He needs more preparation and training. I saw him with early signs of diverticulitis and he only put me on one (Cipro) of the two recommended antibiotics for this condition (Cipro + Flagyl) despite the fact my GI doc had previously prescribed this combination (which was on my file). The reason for the combination is to kill anaerobic bacteria. My GI doc retired so I could not reach out to him. I felt better after a week on Cipro and then I relapsed and had severe pain and ended up in the hospital getting a CT scan and iv antibiotics at 2am which cost me a lot ($1300) even after my insurance adjustment. When I tried to reach out to him I did not hear from him. I feel this doctor could have done much better….
