Horrible. Almost cost me my life . They rarely return calls. He hyper-focused on one medical problem and would not listen to me about my pre-existing medical issues. I could not get the proper care or get my medicines that I had been taking for 10 years or my diabetic supplies. I called his office repeatedly with no return calls. I switched my insurance and Primary care provide because of him. He wanted to see me in January 2023 for a 6 month follow up but I became very ill without my medicine and me and my spouse called his office several times regarding me feeling very ill and never got a call back. One week after I switched doctors and insurance I got a call from my new doctor she was crying at me to go to the ER the labs she had done on my new patient exam revealed I had calcium levels in over the lethal range and I had les than a day to live so I went to the ER in Tehachapi and they nearly killed me too my administering under their care by treating me for low Vitamin D when it was supposed to be low due to my high calcium they gave me a vitamin D shot and made me pee blood and almost killed me that way too. They also told me to eat my normal diet even though my calcium levels we 15.6 (lethal is 14-15) If I would have waited for my January check up because he thought everything was fine I would have died In November. Don't Trust him he doesn't know what he is doing and he is not a good listener. Part of why I got so sick was he made me go several months without treating my known illness; my para-thyroid He laughed at me for telling him that I had this problem I am one of the 1% of men that actually have this medical condition and he refuse to listen to get me my medicine which caused further problems. I needed surgery for my parathyroid before I moved here and I ordered those records and showed him what records I had and he wouldn't budge and nearly cost me my life. If you See Don Harwick or go to Tehachapi ER you might die for real. I am not joking. Like I said, there is a real lack of communication and lack of compassion for his patients. Do Not be fooled. I switched to Bartz-Alta and Donna Deborah Freeman saved my life one week after switching. That's how close to death I was. I had to beg for medicine and referral to an endocrinologist from Don Harwick that took me 9 months to accomplish. He should not be practicing medicine at all Do not trust him or the hospital he is affiliated with they just don't care and treat you badly. They will let you die if you don't get a second opinion elsewhere. If it wasn't for Deborah Freeman's great listening skills and compassion I would have been dead because of Harwick. I am glad I switched care providers and insurance. Do yourselves a favor save your own life and always get a second opinion if you see Don Harwick, if you don't you might not live it's that bad of care and his receptionist never called back it's been a year since I left several voicemails and I am still waiting for my call back even though I switched.
