It's rare for me to review a doctor, but my recent experiences with Mindpath Health have been so poor that I feel compelled to warn future patients.

I had been a psychiatry patient for many years and had an excellent experience with Dr. Johnson. However, since he left the practice and I was assigned a new doctor, the quality of care has significantly declined.

The new doctor has repeatedly sent incorrect prescriptions, including a 90-day supply of the wrong controlled substance, more than once sent my prescription to the wrong pharmacy, and failed to honor my request for brand-name medication instead of sending generic. These errors have caused me to waste hours calling the pharmacies and Mindpath Health. I have also run out of my medication, which is completely unacceptable.

Furthermore, the doctor did not review his notes and seemed to have no recollection of my case or our previous discussions when we met. When I ask questions about my new medication, he often has to Google the answers or admit he’s unsure. During our appointments, he texts, is on his phone, or asks to put me on mute to take a personal call on his cell phone. We only meet for 5 minutes every three months, so this is inappropriate. He seems very focused on booking me for my next appointment to bill me, but not at all on my care.

There have also been ongoing issues with insurance and billing. I've been billed incorrectly multiple times, and they claim their billing system is down, insisting I pay over the phone. The most significant issue occurred when I switched insurance in June. Despite providing my new insurance information in advance and following up with it 6 times, they billed me for a full out-of-pocket amount of over $500 for a June 5th appointment. They claimed they couldn't update my insurance in their system, and asked me to provide a letter documenting my insurance had been terminated. This is bizarre since I see many doctors, and Mindpath is the only one that needs a letter from the insurance. I am only legally obligated to provide my current insurance card info. If they can't update it in their system and bill the insurance correctly they won't get paid.

For all these reasons, I am formally documenting my complaint about the disorganization and poor patient care at Mindpath Health and will seek care from a new provider.

There is no way to reach your doctor, so if you are experiencing awful side effects for your meds or have any concerns, you would be screwed.

They told me I can call and I did, but whether the doctor will even see the response is another issue. I am not sure what’s going on, if the doctors are overworked or if the issue is not being sent properly from the front desk.

But it’s horrible how difficult it is for patients to even get a hold of their doctors. I explained that I cannot take my current meds with the side effects but no one seemed to think this is a big deal. They just keep saying they would put in another note. But how difficult it is to just email or phone the doctor from front desk?

Also not sure how this place has a 4.4 rating on google, it only has 1 star on Yelp and I agree wholeheartedly. Find another provider if you can.

Super super rude front desk lady, I asked to be removed from an appointment (which through out the call she had a horrible attitude and once I matched her energy she hated that) and out of pettiness she left it on and making me look like a no call no show and end up being charged a fee. Do better with who you hire as your employees and maybe teach them better customer service (if this company even values that) and whoever was working August 2 and answered my call at 11:02am I hope the worst happens to you and you end up getting fired in the future (-:

After four months, I've now received my medical records with the help of a manager, Terry Losoya. I have added another star for Terry's persistence in assisting me in this task and her excellent customer service skills. Thank you, Terry!

Dropped another star because Mindpath health is WITHHOLDING MY MEDICAL RECORDS. Dr. Vora agreed in our session that she diagnosed me incorrectly and would amend my diagnosis letter. I never received a copy. I contacted them over a month ago asking for a copy of this medical record and they said it would be done. They did not send it. I called them today and they claim they have no updates. This is ILLEGAL in the state of California - you are not allowed to withhold medical records from patients. I will be pursuing legal action if my request is not honored.

I wish I could say I've had a good experience with Mindpath, but I have not.

The provider I received was cold and committed medical negligence. I went in for an ADHD screening because work required documentation. And the experience was honestly not great - neither was the follow-up.

To begin Dr. Vora did not let me express in my own words the symptoms I was experiencing. Instead she drilled me on a list of questions and wouldn't deviate from them. This left a lot of information out of my evaluation. It honestly felt more like a police interrogation than anything.

At multiple times during this evaluation I was the victim of her stigmatizing attitudes and behaviors. She said things like "Why are you seeking help NOW" and "But you're successful - it doesn't seem like you're struggling" MULTIPLE times during the interview even after I expressed I was struggling.

If she had any expertise in this field, she would know that there are peer-reviewed journal articles which document how and why women of color often do not disclose their struggles. She would also know how stigmatizing patients made them less likely to disclose. Maybe if she'd at all tried to understand my family history she would have realized my parents never bothered to get me tested because at that time knowledge about ADHD was not commonplace.

After forty minutes of this interrogation, I expressed that I was overwhelmed due to my ADHD symptoms. I expressed it was not anxiety, I was not having panic attacks. But falling behind at work, having trouble understanding and communicating was creating barriers to my quality of life. I also offhanded said that I was overwhelmed when friends changed plans.

Without any further investigation, she latched onto that last statement, and she diagnosed me with anxiety unspecified. She also wrote in my chart that my mood was "anxious" even though I was completely even-keeled - even after the stigmatization began.

I do not meet ANY of the DSM characteristics for anxiety. Additionally, being overwhelmed when plans change is also a characteristic for autism, which IS in my family history at multiple points (which she knew), and which is more plausible.

When I asked her at our next meeting to amend this misdiagnosis, as I did not meet ANY of the characteristics for anxiety, she admitted it was true and then said "But I'd like to observe you first" and suggested I would have to see a therapist as well before the request was even considered.

Yet she had no problem misdiagnosing me without observation, nor an actual evaluation for anxiety.

I have a PhD in medical sociology. I am well-aware how psychiatry is at best a guessing game, and at worst a field rife with overmedicalization - particularly when it comes to women of color.

Because of this misdiagnosis, the cold bedside manner, stigmatizing actions and behaviors and lack of respect for the patient, I cannot recommend Mindpath health. And I especially cannot recommend Dr. Vora.

The only good point about Mindpath is that it was easy to get an appointment. But with doctors like these? I'd rather wait for a different service.

Beyond awful practice. I got laid off from my job last year and have been really struggling without medication or care. I had a refill left on my anti-depressants that I tried contacting Mindpath about, asking for them to transfer the prescription to Mark Cuban's cost-plus drugs so that I could afford them, they were otherwise close to $600 without insurance. I called at 4 separate times talking to different people and kept getting the run around. Kept getting told they would speak to the doctor and call back, only to never call back. I was full on sobbing on the phone after being told I was required to make an appointment and shell out $600-700 just to talk to the doctor about a prescription I still had a refill for. Absolutely abysmal and 0 empathy, which should be the foundation for any medical practice. I will never work with these people again.

I a New a patient at MindPath🙏
My first experience was with a very helpful and attentive receptionist named Ashby. He was kind, courteous and most importantly he listened to my needs and he helped me find a Psychiatrist that was a good fit for my issue.
The first appointment went very well. I am excited to be working with Mind Path and to continue my journey of learning to love myself.
I will leave more reviews after I have been here longer.
However, so far it am very pleased and excited to be working on myself with Mind Path.
Thank you
