Pepe’s is a great local restaurant with excellent service and tasty food. It’s conveniently located between the 15 and the 215 outside the main gate of Canyon lake. It’s super big inside and has a large bar area, dining area and even a banquet kind of area game room. All the food is really good and the margaritas all are tasty. Standouts for me were the fajitas, the enchiladas and don’t sleep on Pepe’s burrito and the queso dip is pretty bomb too.

Our server Kyle was exceptionally well-informed about the menu and provided insightful recommendations. Unfortunately, the food lacked the authenticity of traditional Mexican dishes, and the drinks were poorly balanced, leaving much to be desired in terms of flavor.

Well I'll be damned, never thought as a Latino, that I would find a tasty and authentic Mexican restaurant. My god Hayley, was on tip top service and was super attentive. The food we got were chilaquiles and wings. The red salsa, you can taste all the spices especially the Chile Puya. Chips were crispy and salsa was tasty. The wings were crispy crunchy on the outside but super tender on the inside. Not overly cooked. Sunday mornings are quite but they have brunch specials!!! Highly recommend!!

First time here...service was excellent. Food was delicious I had the cheese enchiladas in the red sauce, rice and beans. Beans had a great flavor. Service was excellent got a refill without having to ask for one, chips and salsa were filled quickly. Would highly recommend trying Pepe's when your in the area. They were dressed up for the Halloween season.

I have not been here in a decade, at least to the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. My Bloody Mary and chorizo quesdilla were delicious. Chips and salsa were also great! Will definitely come back more often!

Complaint:

I ordered food and paid using Apple Pay. The transaction was successfully processed on my end, and the money was deducted from my account. However, the cashier claimed that her system showed it hadn’t gone through. I even showed her the payment approval on my app, but she still insisted on charging me again.

Despite clear evidence that the payment was successful, she contacted the manager, who sided with her, stating that I would need to pay again. This is unacceptable. If a customer can prove a payment was made, the business should prioritize resolving the issue fairly rather than doubling down on a flawed system error.

It felt less like a professional resolution and more like a power struggle, which left a bad impression. The service was unprofessional, frustrating, and dismissive. The only upside? The food is undeniably good — Do the right thing for the customer smh

This was our first time trying Pepe’s out and we really enjoyed it. We went on a Saturday night so there was a live band and that was fun!

We ordered fajitas, the pepe burrito and the chips and white queso (which we really enjoyed). Everything was made fresh and hot and the portions were huge!

We will definitely be adding this to the regular rotation.
