On December 18 , My son got sick and we wanted to take him to Scripps health express Carmel valley clinic. We were so worried about his health. There was a woman who works at the pediatric check in desk on the second floor and she totally lied to me. She told me if i pay out of pocket then i will loose my medical which is inaccurate. They close at 8 pm and we’ve arrived there 7:15 pm and she didn’t want to do paperwork. I guess she was tired of her work but she tried to make us scared and she lied to us although my 1 year old son was sick. We were in panic because my son was sick so we left immediately for going to another clinic. I’ve checked with my medical later on and there is no way what she told us. I recommend all patients not to bring their kids to this clinic. They don’t care about your health. It was a horrible experience overall.

This was the most understaffed health facility with young inexperienced greeters who couldn’t think to say only one doctor to see a large amt of sick patients. Got frequent text saying I was number 1 to be seen within 13 min.2.5 hrs passed and nothing but that freezing cold waiting room. I made frequent inquiries as to what was going on and finally called. Within 15 min got prescription for ear infection and waited another ten min before I left examine room to announce I was leaving. Meet with discharge person for paper work and almost 3 hrs later walked out. Place is understaffed, non communicative about what is happening with regard to accurate wait times Staff is aloof, non interested and distant. Also waiting room was freezing cold. With Scripp’s name on the door, you should be ashamed to offer this inferior service to your sick patients. Save the paper and don’t bother sending me another survey. Use the effort and time to improve Scripps Health Express. Also inject compassion and interest into staff

I’ve visited this clinic twice now, and it's been a much more convenient option than urgent care.

I'm really impressed that they offer weekend flu shots. A big thanks to Sicilio (again, sorry if misspelled) for going the extra mile to find appointments for my girls. I really appreciate Sicilio for all the help!

This office is useless dont waste your time here if your sick in anyway. A bunch of open rooms and no patients in the lobby. It took them 2hrs and 20 mins to call me back and give me a strep test. Not sure if the NPs here are actually useful for anything. The NP have no value add to the assistants here. For context a strep test is throat swap and takes all of 6 mins.

Went across the street to MD Today urgent care. Much better facility with actual doctors that will actually try to help you out. Night and day difference between the facilities. MD Today Urgent care is the way to go.

I was able to walk in and be helped right away. Everyone was very helpful and kind. I was pleased with the care provided and was able to get the treatment I needed quickly. They called the next day to check up on how I was doing.

Complete waste of time to go here if you are actually feeling sick. Saw Kathleen Pulcino, NP, on both occasions (first time for my son who was sick and then for myself who was sick). Both times she brushed off our ailments, didn’t include all the info in patient summaries, and we ended up at alternate medical care offices who had to prescribe antibiotics for proper diagnoses and treatment. Some of the medical advice she gave seemed off coming from a medical professional (and I used to work at a hospital).
Do feel this place is ok if you need a vaccine or testing (but estimate at least 40 minutes there for that), but will never go here again if one of my family members is feeling sick.

Came into the clinic around 8am. Overall, had a good experience and didn’t have to wait too long once I was in the room to be seen by a doctor. I did however have to wait about 25-30 min longer than what the automated system was telling me and saw several people go in before me that arrived after I did-so frustrating. Since you can’t make an appt online anymore, you have to go on the website and reserve your place in line and declare when you’re “on your way”. Minus 1 star for the delay.

I visited the healthexpress at carmel valley couple weeks back for the server lower abdominal pain and UTI symptoms I had. I chose this place because this is in-network with my insurance plan. Two weeks later I got a bill of $1140 to pay. Apparently, the PA had ordered whole bunches of lab work without my consent and without letting me know that those specific lab work are not covered by my insurance. I called the billing department and they told me that they will put a hold on the bill to reassess the quote. Some days later I get a notice that the bill is valid and the amount has increased to $1170. I submitted the financial assistant application to at least get a discount since this was unexpected and unexplained bill which has been rejected. I recently graduated from school and I'm still paying off the debts I have from grad school. I was international student living on minimum wage for 7 years and I have very minum saving to go visit my sick parents in another country after 7 years and now I have deal with paying off this new bill over a very simple symptom to a in-network facility.

I called them and spoke to the providers unfortunately there's a minimum understand or help. But just imagine that you have an emergency symptoms and you visit this place and you end up owing 10K just because they might order whole lot of unnecessary lab works behind your back that you are even aware of it and they tell you that you are responsible to pay! This is insane and very unacceptable!

Save yourself a headache and try another places!
