Our 2 babies were born at this birthing center. The first experience (2 years ago) was good but the recent experience was very poor.

1. My wife’s OB went on leave just 2 weeks before due date. They did not even bother to call us to explain.
2. The nurses were totally hands-off. Only one nurse actually seemed interested in helping deliver the baby.
3. The anesthesiologist (Jimmy Liu) was inexperienced and incompetent. The epidural anesthesia that he gave to my wife did not work well. My wife was in extreme pain for 4 hours and her condition just got worse as urine catheter could not be inserted. Jimmy had to be called thrice to get the epidural right. In the end the epidural did work but by then so much medicine had been injected that my wife started vomiting incessantly. At that point we lost hope for a vaginal delivery.

The management should seriously consider hiring better staff. Until then, I would be discouraging my friends and colleagues from going to this birthing center.

I birthed at Eden 7 month ago and I have mixed feelings (mostly negative though).
When arrived at the hospital I was in a terrible pain and asked for epidural from the moment I arrived. They did not take me seriously and gave me epidural 4 hrs later when I was at 10 cm dilated. The nurse made the joke that “you kind of had the unmedicated birth”. I didn’t want to go through all that pain and am still furious at them.
- I asked for peanut ball and not birthing on my back but the triage nurse ignored me.
- Lactation support was non existent. My baby had to go to Nicu for few nights and I really needed guidance on pumping. Nurses were trying to be helpful but each had different suggestions and it was even more confusing. We got scheduled for a lactation consultation a week after my baby was born which seemed too late. I couldn’t latch the baby after all and my supply was low so ended up pumping for him.
- They did not help us with birth certificate forms while I was admitted. I had to keep asking for that and go back few days later to file the forms.

The pros were: Apart from the triage nurse, the other nurses were great. The nicu nurses were true angels and very kind. They took care of our baby and gave us lots of advice on feeding/changing/swaddling.
There was shower and private suite in postpartum rooms.

Overall I don’t recommend the place though. It’s a very mediocre facility.

Made a worst decision of my life to deliver here at Eden. Due to medical staff negligence my baby has suffered brain injury during birth. I was left unattended in the labor room for 15 min during crowning when I was just 10 min away from giving birth.
Stay away from this hospital if you want to save yourself from all of this trauma.

I had my baby about 2 months ago and it was a good experience. My experience with my twins 5years ago was even better; I will say I have good experiences.
