I was feeling so sick, front desk gave their all by accommodating me to their busy schedule and MA Leo contacted me immediately. Dr Beltran came in quick and assisted me,he sure did his best and he ended up sending me to the hospital as an emergency. Thanks to them I was treated and recovered ! Thank you staff !!

My experience with this clinic and the company as a whole has been deeply disappointing. Clinicas needs to reevaluate its mission statement, as it does not reflect the quality care it claims to provide for the underserved population of Ventura County. Maybe a long time ago, but not our times. A recurring issue across all Clinicas locations is the inability to retain doctors, which forces patients to repeatedly restart their health journeys. Additionally, scheduling appointments is a nightmare, often taking 3–4 months to secure care.

Specific Concerns for This Clinic:

1.) Customer Service:
The customer service at this location is questionable at best. Receptionists lack friendliness and seem careless when scheduling appointments. For instance, during an eye appointment, the receptionist tried to deny my visit, claiming it wasn’t properly scheduled for the required duration. Despite clearly communicating my needs when booking months in advance, I was made to feel as though the mistake was mine. The receptionist gave me an attitude, showed no accountability and failed to apologize.

However, I was grateful that she was able to convince the optometrist to see me, the optometrist unfairly scolded me about clarifying appointment details, even though the error was not mine to begin with.

2.) Leadership and Management:
When I attempted to escalate the issue to the health center manager about my eye appointment incident, her response was dismissive and unprofessional. Her exact words were, "What else do you want me to do?" This demonstrated a lack of leadership and empathy for patients' concerns. My feedback to improve employee training and foster a friendly environment seemed to fall on deaf ears, further discouraging me from returning to the clinic.

3.) Phone Etiquette:
Another incident occurred when a receptionist called me that they were going to cancel one of my appointments due to my expired insurance. While I appreciated being informed, I asked the receptionist to also cancel my other appointment as well. She hesitated and assumed I might still want the appointment since the copay "wasn’t expensive". I told her that was not an okay response and to never assume a patient’s financial situation or choices. Patients deserve respect, not presumptions.

Clinicas continues to demonstrate that it prioritizes profit over patient care. The lack of compassion and professionalism across their clinics is alarming. This company needs to stop viewing patients as dollar signs and start focusing on delivering the quality care it claims to provide. I hope changes are made so no other patients endure the experiences I have faced.
