I really enjoyed my stay, the staff there are amazing and a special thanks to my case manager Sam who went above and beyond and even stayed late after working all day to make sure I had somewhere to discharge to. I can't say thanks enough. And a shout out to Chris, Maria, and Tyler who were the best techs and helped me out the whole time I was there. And Dr. Park is amazing. Thank you Vista Del Mar for everything.

All these hospitals are just in it to make money off of people with mental illness. It’s called exploitation.

Anyone with a problem in addition to mental illness never gets a solution to their problem. Oh no, I got passed off to another place that will bill my insurance so money can be made and continuation of the exploitation of the ill because that’s the American system!

That’s the only reason they exist. No other reason. If they aren’t just in the biz to make money why don’t they offer free services?

They didn’t help me with my homelessness. They don’t care.

I was discharged by Vista Del Mar to a crisis residential treatment program called Central Star in Sylmar.

Do not go to Central Star unless you want personal things stolen from you and your constitutional rights violated.

Maybe it will get even worse because it is a slippery slope and condoning theft can only lead to worse crimes.

I went to central star looking for help and that’s not what I received. I made the assumption that it would be staffed by complete professions and that was a huge mistake on my part.

I came here to get help with my depression and my homelessness. I am currently living out of my car due to rent being more than I can I afford. I ended up traumatized by a place that is supposed to be helping people.

Central Star is designed to be a place that you stay at for a week or longer and according to the rules I brought personal things such as my cell phones and my chargers and cables that go to them. In addition I brought clothing and toiletries.

I met with several pleasant staff therapists and started the intake process. I was told by a therapist Ami that my suitcase would not be searched or itemized unless I am present during it. As it turns out that did not happen. My suitcase was searched without my presence and my rights were completely violated.

I looked through my personal things which were now in plastic containers on a counter and my phone charger to my iPhone 13 was missing and presumably stolen. It was not in my car and I had the USB-C cable in my suitcase so why would I not bring the USB-C charger?

One staff member even took the liberty to rip my backpack to find my key fob to my car. The policy of this criminal organization, sorry I mean facility, is that all residents parking any cars there must turn in their keys so that in case the car has to be moved a staff member will take the liberty to steal anything in your car, sorry I mean take the liberty to move your car.

I don’t know about other car owners but my insurance doesn’t cover someone driving my car other than me or someone who is also covered by my insurance.

I was also told that they need to itemize my personal belongings in my car as well! This is of course to itemize things they want to steal from my car since it’s fun to victimize those who are suffering in life and vulnerable. And since my USB-C charger was stolen, sorry I mean misplaced (in someone else’s pocket), I think it’s a safe bet that things in my car would go missing too.

Needless to say I had a serious problem with my Constitutional rights as a patient being violated.

I always thought that those who commit crimes (for example, staff members at Central Star) and become incarcerated are the ones who lose their Constitutional rights and not those who are ill and need help. Apparently residents here have no Constitutional rights and it’s policy of Central Star to steal things from them.

After I received my medication back, that they surprisingly didn’t steal, I left immediately and never plan to go back again. At least now I know where to go if I want my things stolen from me and to have my Constitutional rights violated.

I’m also going to watch my bank account in case my debit card number was stolen.

Long story short: all these places should be shut down completely.

Omg 😱 worst mental health hospital ever been in. I was in 7. They treated us like animals or worse than animals. This should be closed forever. Some of nurses n people were nice. I was held down by 7 people because I wouldn’t take meds. So they gave me a shot n I had COPD n they covered my head with a pillow. They said we would get pet therapy. But we never saw one pet. I I could go on and on but I won’t waste my time. I’m sure they won’t do anything about it.

i was sent here in 2021 and to be honest it wasn’t that bad for what it is. The staff was amazing and were always there when patients needed them. The food was amazing and they gave us multiple choices which was nice. They gave us different activates and types of therapies through out the day which you never had to do. They brought a dog into the hospital for animal therapy which was a amazing experience as it did help with peoples happiness levels. The only thing i had a problem with was the lack of communication when we were going to let out and when we had questions about medication and etc. Overall it was nice and clean with amazing staff, i would recommend over other for sure.

I stayed there myself for what was supposed to be 72 hours. As time went on, no news of my release. I would ask about it and staff would continuously get my hopes up for me to leave only to wake up in my same hard bed the next morning. The therapist I met with said I used the wrong, stupid option to OD and then told me better substances that would actually work. I also dealt with a stalker-type boy when I was there, and I asked some staff to make sure he doesn’t get too close to me. Not much was done about that either. Definitely could have been a more stress free environment with more understanding and honest staff.

I passed out in the showers and not a single staff member checked on me for 30 minutes, if I had hit my head falling or fell face down in the water, who knows what would have happened because of their negligence. Dirty, unsanitary facility with negligent and hostile staff
