Best place for new surfers! Parking can be tricky so make sure you get there early because its off the pacific coast highway the traffic can be a little crazy. Drive safe everyone and go slow. Lots of surfers go here for the long waves, they are slow waves but good for newbies and kids.

Great surf beach for beginners. Family friendly. During peak hours, especially during break time (spring, summer, winter break, etc) it can get very crowded, including parking. No trash cans but there are 2 portable bathrooms. Beach access is tricky and you have to walk down the rocks. Easiest way down is next to the portable stall or to the far left next to the houses. There are times when the tide gets too high and there is no beach but also it can get very low where you can actually walk along the beach behind the houses.

Great beach! Took my 8 year old and husband here for a surf lesson. Weather was perfect and parking is along the road. My oldest daughter is disabled, so it was a little difficult to get her down to the beach because you have to climb down some rocks. But was well worth it!

Mondo's Is easily one of the best surf spots for beginners or if you are getting back into it. The waves are usually consistently coming in at 1'-2' at waist high breaks. Some rocks, some sand bars. There are no real facilities save a few port-a-potties, but the parking is free! Plenty of room to layout and enjoy the beach. Some days I have seen upwards of 200+ surfers in the same general location, so it can get pretty congested at times.

Friend wanted to try surfing while visiting and signed up for a class. There were a lot of different surf lessons/classes/camps going on. Plenty of room with enough for the viewers to hang out. Will definitely return

As long as it’s not a big beach day, plenty of street parking is available. We were able to walk across the street straight down to the sand. Waves were good, lots of surfers. Not sure if it was just our luck that day or if it’s the norm, but the bugs (not sure what type) were flying around and bothering us the whole time we were on the sand. Definitely not a relaxing spot with them! Otherwise, would have rated higher had it not been for that and no lifeguards on duty.

I learned to surf here with my coach, Elieah, from Mary Osborne Surf Camp. There were other surf camps teaching, mostly kids camps. The instructor said it used to be much sandier, but with the recent storms, it has a very rocky bottom. This is a beautiful spot where the ocean meets the mountains about 25 minutes north of Oxnard. Parking is free on the street and there are a few port a potties. You must walk down rocks to get to the water and lots of observers stayed along the hilltop. Amazing experience!
