My experience with having cataract surgery on both my eyes was very good. Dr. Mandel and his whole team were always courteous. Helpful. Made you feel at ease answered all your questions. I couldn’t ask for better customer service from this whole procedure beginning to end. My world is a brighter place Because of Dr. Mandel and his staff thank you very much. I definitely would recommend Dr. Mandel to all my family and friends. And I already know of two of my friends that are in preparation of using him. The surgery to my right and left eyes were done as explained to me, no pain and no problem. The assistants and nurses were courteous and good in explaining the post surgery care to my eyes. The only part I did not expect was another doctor did the surgery in my left eye rather than Dr. Mandel himself. I am not sure if that made the difference.

Interactions prior to and after surgery were great. My only suggestion would be that advance warning of what to expect during surgery would for me have been helpful. The laser and post laser surgery steps are not walks in a park. I suppose being repeatedly told not to move was under the circumstances much needed, but either more sedation or fewer surprises would likely have helped. Hats off to the post surgery care and follow up appointments. Informative and caring. .

I went to Dr Mandel after macular surgery caused rapidly developing cataracts. He lead through my history, did a thorough exam and then discussed all of my options with me. I’ve now had several surgeries and my vision is great. Everyone in the office is professional and wonderful. I would highly recommend him.

First, I would like thank Dr. Mandel, Dr. Catanzaro, Dr. Ristow and Dr. G for assisting me before during and after my cataract surgery. I would also like to thank Christine and Christina for your professionalism and kindness on the day of my surgery. I am pleased with the outcome and it will take some time for me to get use to not wearing glasses. Dr. Mandel is a highly skilled doctor. That being said, I would like to comment on my personal experience with the process. On your Website it says your "initial objective is to educate the patient". I feel that Dr. Mandel did not have an informed conversation with me. On the day of the consultation Dr. Mandel was very busy and I felt he was rushed. I would have liked the doctor to have explained my condition and treatment in more detail. Appeared to have glossed over my situation. When I read your notes the next day there was notations that I did not recognized as being part of our brief interaction. Also, the pre and post op treatment is extensive and it is a collaborated effect and it would have been helpful to know during the initial visit what to expect. The support staff was not always consistent in providing instructions pre and post-op. Also, letting the patient know that they would be seeing other doctors following the surgery would have been beneficial.
The overall experience was positive and having better vision is wonderful.

I had clear lens extraction done by Dr Mandel. I was nervous of course, the idea of having surgery on my eyes was intimidating. However Dr. Mandel and his staff were confident and comforting. My experience was great!! After 10 years of wearing glasses 24/7 this has been a truly exciting change.
