Wellview Care Clinic and the team of outstanding medical professionals has truly changed my view and attitude towards doctors, medical care, scary yet preventable diseases and empowered me to take control of my life! Maritza Cifuentes taught me how to take control of my health, prevent myself from getting easily transmitted diseases thru sharing pipes and other paraphanelia that I encountered on the reg as a user and informed me, guided me, encouraged me and healed me! Katie, the medical assistant who drew my blood was more skilled at this than any phlebotomist I have ever encountered. The office is super relaxed and very clean and I have never once had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen, and yet it takes much longer than that to get me to leave, because I love the feel here! The entire staff is very accommodating, providing rewards for taking both preventative and no preventative meds, getting blood work done and work very hard to make the homeless population feel supported both mentally and physically but also treats us like we are just as important as the rest of the world even when we don’t feel it. I was a very naive and health negligent active drug user, choosing to ignore everything based on my fears. Now I am an educated and empowered healthy woman who knows that I am important and special! I was always scared of doctors and STD testing but now realize how stress free and stress relieving the experience can be. Not only is everyone the most warmest most nonjudgmental group of ladies, they were encouraging as well! Maritza has signed me up for excellent medical insurance and did lots of research to find me the best detox and rehabs for me, but only when I brought it up, she waited til I was ready! Everything is so confidential and as a homeless women with her husband we spent lots of our appointments scarfing down chips and waters and getting neglected cuts and ignored symptoms cared for! And most importantly have taken the Prep medication so that I was never infected with these diseases: I trust them with my life on so many levels! I am so truly blessed to have been a patient here and were even given bus passes for the month tiger back and forth to the office! My husband and I can not express the depths of my gratitude, appreciation and deep admiration for the life preserving and life saving work Maritza, Katie and their awesome team of lady medical professionals are super human humble awesome people and I love them like my own family! Thank you all sooo much for everything! And never making my husband James and I ever feel ashamed, rather just being awesome role models showing us that we too can be part of the prevention of the spread of STDs and how even if we are infected, we can have the virus be dormant in us and live long happy healthy successful lives, just like the rest of then world! Because we all matter! Every single one of us!
