** After I posted this review my 12 year old son received a letter in the mail stating Marion Eye Center and Tyhurst " will no longer be able to provide him with health care services" Seems a lot like discrimination to me.

I wouldn’t send my cat here. I took my 12 year old son for an appointment yesterday and every single person in that building needs a class on interacting with humans and patience. This was the worst place I have been dealing with children. No one smiled, no one even attempted to make my son comfortable or speak to him. At the end of our very poor exam Dr. Keith Tyhurst asked me in front of my child if he had any disabilities and commented on the odd shape of his head. They also will not give you the full information on your prescription because they don’t want you buying your glasses somewhere else. So to get that information you have to call another woman which I haven’t done yet but I’m sure will try to give you the run around.

Everyone was great when me and my girlfriend came to visit. We had an issue with only 1 person there that was extremely rude at the optical desk. Instead of politely telling my girlfriend that she would be with her in a moment it was “I’m looking things up for someone else I can’t help you” unprofessional. I work in automotive so I see all kinds of things on a daily basis. But if someone came to my business with that attitude I would decline service. When my girlfriend told me she thought she was rude I told her that I heard it and was about to tell here to put the glasses down and we would leave. Even with the customer she was working with, she was rude and unprofessional. My vision is perfect so I am glad that I don’t have to work with that person and if my vision does go bad I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Let me start by saying that the staff started out friendly. The experience was decent, though the fees were somewhat high. The experience began just fine but I had to wait more than four months for my prescription trial to come in. Once they arrived I was told to come in. When I got there to try them they said they had been sent to the other location almost an hour away. I had to call work and be late, but went to pick them up. I waited an hour plus and finally got in. As soon as I did I was told that they did not have the lenses and they were at the other location. When I arrived they finally told me they had misplaced my contacts... So they reordered them which took months again. When I finally received them they were great, I could see well and things were fine. So I attempted to place the order for my contacts which the doctor had told me would be half price due to the inconvenience. They told me however that he wanted to see them on my eyes and would have to order them again and would not let me order contacts with the prescription I paid over $120 for until he saw them on my eyes which I have never heard of before. I never received information that the contact sample had arrived and by the time I checked back the prescription he never released had expired. When I called to try and give them another chance recently and asked if they would honor the half price lenses if I paid for another prescription they tried to say it was my fault and refused saying it had been too long. Never do business here. They are disorganized, they blame the customer for their mistakes, and they do not keep their word. I will never go back, and I suggest that you do not either. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau.

Really liked the Dr that did the exam. The lady checking us in was supper nice and friendly. The other two staff members on the other hand were not. But I was not there to see them. My son was there for an exam and I felt he got a very good exam.

Told me i couldn't get glasses because of my old insurance, tried providing my new insurance, but she claimed it doesn't matter that i had new insurance, told her to call her boss, she responded ok but I've worked 18 years here it hasn't changed. Of course she was wrong and her boss told her i can get another pair, I said no thanks at this point I just want my prescription information she said it's expired, I said I don't care, she then told me again very rudely and had the nerve to write EXPIRED on my paper. Worst customer service I've ever had.

I have went to anna facility in the past. Then i choose a different place for next exam due to one employee making me feel like i was an inconvenience when i stopped in at 430 to pick up my glasses. Wasnt happy with customer service at all. So i had decided to go back and give it a try again shouldnt let one person base my opinion on the entire place. I went friday and the same lady was working, and being very unprofessional, she was literally talking across the room to another staff which was loud my husband and i both felt like she should have gotten up out of her chair and went over to the other staff to talk about scheduling issues. Dowsnt matter where you work you should show more professionalism and get up go talk to said person instead sitting across room loudly talking to other staff. But however the new staff Stephanie was definitely a breathe of fresh air very polite and very helpful she explained all my copays to me my opitions. In the past it seemed like u want this and that and heres ur total. So thank u stephanie for your professional attitude and showing compassion. Hope you choose to stay for many years.

I’ve used the Marion eye center in cape for years. Unfortunately they no longer except my insurance. This is unfortunately the only place that is close to home to go. I’m looking for another place to go. I’m needing to get myself and my 2 kids an appointment and they will not make an appointment for me and them on the same day one person per household a day is all they allow. Seriously I can’t afford to make 3 separate trips. It’s a 30 minute or longer drive one way. Not to mention dragging 3 kids along for 3 different appointments that bogus. The first 2 ladies pretty much admitted it’s because of the type of insurance we have. Well guess what it’s all I can get for my family. How about this since my insurance doesn’t suit them, maybe they can go pay for top of the line insurance for my family of 8..... Then I can maybe schedule 3 appointments in the same day.

The wait of our last visit was longer than I would have liked. I don’t think it should take over an hour to get things done just to be told to come back for another appointment, we were there for my sons school exam but because he needed to be seen for “floaters” we have to return. The real issue is, I had to make both of my kids visits separately because of Covid yet when we are there, other parents are bringing more than just the kid of the appointment. So is it a rule or isn’t it? I have to take multiple hours off of work on two different days because I was told it could only be me and my son with the appointment🤔 and no household w two appointments in one day but then they let people bring in other people anyway. Ridiculous.
