This review is solely about the front desk staff member who handles appointment scheduling, not the doctor or the medical care itself.

I was referred to this specialist by my primary care provider and called to schedule an appointment. Unfortunately, my interaction with the scheduling staff was frustrating and left me feeling dismissed. The person I spoke with came across as impatient and condescending, particularly when asking questions that, in my understanding, should have already been accessible through their system.

When I couldn't provide immediate answers, her tone became exasperated, which made me feel like a burden rather than a patient seeking help. She mentioned that the procedure was coded incorrectly based on the referral, but as the patient, I wasn’t the one who entered that information—my doctor’s office did. I tried to clarify, but the way she handled the conversation felt more combative than collaborative.

I completely understand that mistakes happen, and it’s important to gather accurate information—but how that’s done matters. A bit more patience and professionalism would have gone a long way in helping me feel acknowledged and supported, rather than spoken down to.

If I didn’t truly need this procedure, I would have considered looking elsewhere based on that one interaction alone. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as it’s important that patients feel respected at every step of the process.

I just love Dr Knight. I had foot problems after a bunion surgery with a different Dr. Dr Knight thoroughly explains and points out things on X-rays or CT scans so you understand what’s going on. She just did my surgery on my foot that already had the bunion surgery 15 months ago to fix the problems that had arisen 3 months after my bunion surgery. She’s a wonderful, caring Dr.

I changed my insurance with the new year and with that had to choose a new doctor. I came in to see Dr. Tirovolas as I’ve been having severe cold symptoms. On first impression the office looks nice and inviting, and has a convenient Arlington Heights location. However, everyone seemed very aloof. The nurse, Johana came out to bring me in, and was very short and uncaring, rudely telling me to put on a mask on and to wear it throughout the appointment as I listed cough as the symptom (ok that seemed fair, just should have been said nicely).

When the doctor came in, there was no introduction, no conversation, just a 3 min visit looking in my throat. No checking my chest with a stethoscope or ears, even though I listed sinus pressure, chest congestion and ear ache. Then informed me that she “thinks” it’s a viral cold and there’s nothing I can really take for it, only OTC meds I already was taking. This was a very aloof and uncomfortable office visit and I will be changing my primary doctor ASAP.
