I highly recommended the Counseling Center of Arlington Heights for family therapy and/or individual therapy. It took my family years to find a counselor that truly understood how to effectively communicate with a child on the Autism spectrum. Alicia Osborne has such an amazing ability to completely take a child from ground zero, literally half a sleep in sessions, pre-teen attitude and gets that child to rise up, speak her thoughts and interpret what they mean. My daughter and family have come out of some pretty traumatic experiences, felt comfortable at every session with Alicia and always feel like we are walking away gaining knowledge of how to handle situations that may arise. She is always available to talk with and has helped me navigate a healthier relationship with my daughter. I am so grateful for her services, for her compassion and wisdom. We continue to meet and grow in our understanding of our family dynamic.

We started therapy at the Counseling Center during the COVID lockdown to help my husband I and improve our parenting skills as we struggled with our daughter who was refusing to go to school. Alicia Osborne has been our counselor for the last few years. She has helped us navigate our way through the stress of having a child with mental issues, learning to work with the various school refusal programs and the schools and dealing with our own feelings and issues about our parenting. She has made incredibly helpful suggestions to help us cope with our daughter and her struggles. We have continued our therapy with Alicia for several years now. She is a wonderful partner in helping us cope with life struggles. Not only has she worked with us on parenting, but also with our own issues as adults including the loss of a parent and losing a job. She is calm, patient and seems to have an endless variety of resources to help us no matter what new issue we bring up. After losing steady employment, the Counseling Center worked with us so we could continue to see Alicia. We are so grateful to have found Alicia and the Counseling Center of Arlington Heights. Highly recommended!

I’ve had nothing but a great experience with this team. They came through for me when I needed them. I called around and couldn’t get a call back for the life of me. I waited days which became a week and none of these other counselors returned my call. Until I finally called here, Medina got back to me the same day. Since then I’ve been working with her and she has been the best thing ever. I actually look forward to our sessions because it’s a place for me to talk through things and she really does such an amazing job of making me feel comfortable with it all and so much more. We’ve come a long way and I highly recommend this team, seriously. Whether it be Nancy in billing, the Director Tamara, or more regularly Medina, no matter who the interactions have been with it’s always A+.

I am giving 1 star for the help the manager gave me after being belittled by the therapist especially being told by the therapist that I do not know my job description and being told by this same therapist that my management team does not like me, that they only tolerate me
