I love my doctors, not so much with billing. They use a third party for some of the departments and they cannot give you a link to pay them. It is because of this I am no longer using some of the IU resources.

My list of what is wrong with IU Health.
A) They charge for parking in their own parking Gurage.
B) They and every other health care provider seems to think it's a good idea to shuffle everyone over to iPad based kiosk's to check-in or register. - This trend in everything is anti-human, lacks personal interaction and nothing says they are going to take good care of you like being told to go face a wall/computer when your 1st arriving.
C) To big - The downtown campus, it's a maze, and I can only imagine guests get lost, causing delays for care and for the people who try to accommodate. If you want to use technology to help people, maybe this would be a good way, create a GPS to walk people to someone who can help them.
D) Still, - to big : You might have an apportionment and they get confused which building you should be at, we may have made the mistake, it may have been told to us wrong I'm not sure. But at least once we ended up at IU West where we should have been at the IU Down Town.

They get a few things correct, but having a few good people who work for you and help combat the stupid created by executive
policy is no excuse not to try to fix things.
Give up your branding, you can be one organization with distinct names to help reduce that confusion.

I would rather be treated at IU than Hendricks. I feel IU could do a lot better. Start by putting an end to charging your guests for parking downtown. It's low hanging fruit, and sets the wrong tone when people walk in. I'm sure you can figure out something, and charging for how long they park feels like your only wanting to extend waiting times.

These organizations just grow so big that even though they probably have some good people in them, it’s impossible unless you’re laying on your deathbed to get help. Their system’s too big - if you want quality healthcare avoid IU Health system

Their payment system is comically bad. I can never pay my kids' bills either online or via the automated phone system. Every time I need to pay a bill, I spend 15-30 minutes making a payment that in other contexts takes 1 minute.

Nice people, stuck pretty firmly in the stone ages medically speaking. Just my opinion.

Seek alternate virtual service; predatory billing practices.

The virtual service went well and I paid a fee at its completion, and I thought that was that, however a month later I received a bill for more than three times the visit cost. The agent informed me that while they did take my insurance information to initiate the visit (and wait while they processed it), the practice chose not to inform me that there would be an additional fee after the cost of the visit. Apparently this is their right. I advise against using a practice that makes this choice.

I don't know where to begin. I'm new to Indiana and the very first medical facility I visited was rileys children. Amazing. In the middle of dealing with my daughter there I had some medical issues of my own. Not knowing anything about anything I researched to find a doctor and found myself at this location. After a large hurdle of crossing between being with my daughter and taking care of my business I made it to Dr. Zhibo An in suite 1200. Let me tell you. Everyone from the front desk to the doctor himself were amazing and courteous. The first question I was asked by Dr. An was "how is your daughter?" Absolutely floored me. I never met this man. Never spoke to this man not one day in my life! That moment I knew I met a doctor who actually listens, stays current and who really cares about people. The visit was quick, cordial and informative. I cannot even begin to say how impressed I was at just how down to earth he was. Impressive doesn't even touch the surface.

Very nice people but extremely under staffed and slow. My appointment was at 12:45pm and I sat for almost an hour before being seen by the optometrist. All patients literally saw the same doctor and there were 4 patients with the same appointment time. If they hire more staff I would have had the perfect experience. I will not be returning for my future eye care.
