AFC Urgent Care Worcester - Worcester, Massachusetts

Past two visits were bad. Last one, the website said they were still taking walkins for the night on the website. Got dropped off, was told they aren't taking walkins and because of the timing I had to pay for a ride home instead of get picked up like planned. Not their fault, necessarily, but if there's no availability then the website should say that.

Today though is what pushed me to write a review. I scheduled for 12:15, arrived on time. They took my copay (I have been informed that transaction should be cancelled. Still a hold on my card but that could drop. Still, funny that they're quick to get the copay then make you wait for a visit). I was the first scheduled appointment when I got there. Waited for a while, suddenly my time goes from 12:15 to 1:27.

What appears to be 3 walk ins are taken ahead of me. Which I get maybe they had arrived earlier, but what was the point of scheduling an appointment if they're going to take the walk ins first? Anyway, because I had to work around getting kids from school, I had to leave.

I was asked about rescheduling, but why would I bother? If scheduling doesn't mean anything and walkins get priority, what's the point of it?

Next time, I'll find a different urgent care, because it sucks when you're already sick, to do everything right, schedule your appointment, show up on time, and then be told "sorry, didn't matter you'll be treated like a walk in anyway."

(For the record, I've worked in health care and while I know somethings can't be helped, an hour long wait for a scheduled appointment when walk ins are going first is what gets to me about this experience.)

My visit was overall very positive. I came in needing stitches after being denied by another place down the street. I walked in and immediately talked to a real person, compared to signing in on a random screen. The woman at the desk tonight immediately took my information and saw me back to a room where my wound was taken care of in a very timely fashion. Every staff member was so nice especially the receptionist. I loved Angela, and the physician that stitched me up. They gave me my tetanus shot and everything I needed and sent me on my way. Thank you to all those staff.

I was so ill and I had gone to another walk in that said they were open until 8 but couldn't take me at 6:50 because they stop taking walk in and told me to call around. The lovely woman at the front desk said they could take me and every one was extremely kind and caring. That's how every walk in urgent care should be. If it wasn't for you all I'd probably still be at the hospital for another four hours. Kindness goes a long way especially when people feel awful. Thank you!

Don’t waste your time coming to this place. Even if you arrive on time for your appointment, you might end up waiting over two hours past your scheduled time. When you ask why, they’ll say they don’t actually follow appointments, even though they made you book one. Very unprofessional.

Me and my pregnant wife came to this clinic in need of help and we have a major language barrier, and our triage person Lynn who speaks our language was able to help us. She went above and beyond by calling other clinics and helped out with getting me a PCP. I will definitely be coming back. What a great person Lynn is, she is phenomenal!

This is my second time using this UC the first time I walked in and expected a wait. Today I booked a time answered all the questions provided ID and insurance before hand and I arrived early as was asked. I was told at least a 40 minute wait but I am sure it will be longer they are short staffed.... I do not care do not accept patients if you do not have staff. They wanted my co pay up front I have no idea wether or not there is even a Dr back there. To make me pay ahead of time while I have to sit and wait for hours is not ok by me......I am sick but this place is about business not about caring for people. Shame on AFC last visit here and will never recommend and only steer people away!!!

I had a great experience. The front desk was very helpful especially when I couldn't get my phone to register. The doctors an the other assistant were very professional. The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't get an X-ray because there wasn't a technician there to read an X-ray. The front desk said they didn't dnt have a schedule when the person would be there

One of the nurses, Lynn is her name, is amazing. She went above and beyond to make my visit to the clinic a pleasant one. I would highly recommend this urgent care over the other ones in the Worceter area.
