My nurses were very caring & understanding. Receptionist at entrance helped me out of truck to a wheelchair & got me in quick. Triage nurses was very efficient & caring, got me to a room quickly. My nurses were great, the techs were great, the CT scan nurses , the doctor on call was very professional, caring , understanding & told me in simple terms what was wrong. All the staff took great care of me. Helped me in all aspects of my visit. They were very good to me. Made me & my visit as comfortable as they could. I couldn't have asked for better treatment.

First time this has ever happened to me at Athens ER but I arrived about 4 pm with a bad stomach virus all I wanted was some fluids and something to settle my stomach. When I arrived there were only a couple of people in the waiting room. After being checked in and triaged I was ask to have a seat and wait. Now I am still getting sick at this time into a bag. The waiting room filled up and 4 people were called back all at once and with in the hour they left back out the door. Now I know there are emergencies and I know some illnesses is worse than others I have worked in the ER department in the past. Then at my 2 hour mark of waiting 4 more were called back. All arriving after me. So I asked do you know how much longer it will be? He said those patients went to different section and I was next I was yea I guess I am there is no one else left. I waiting another 1/2 hour and more people came into the ER and I could tell an ambulance had arrived. So I left came home throwing up all night till I was only heaving. Called a friend that does IVs and paid her $100 to take care of me instead my insurance covering y’all. Waiting is part of it I know I wasn't about to die but your system isn’t working. I only needed about 30 minutes of attention and I would have been out of there. Having 8-10 people go back after you have been waiting for 2 hours is not a great feeling. So evidently the part of the ER I needed to go into wasn’t seeing ANY patients from the waiting room in that 2 1/2 hours. Well except one and it was his heart. And I was “next” for 1 1/2 hours because the girl that was ahead of me walked out also.

This was my 1st time being treated at the Athens Limestone Hospital, but they were kind, helpful and very prompt. My nurse, Amber, was absolutely the best-don’t lose her! She was sweet, efficient and very attentive to detail (worthy of a raise I’m sure!). She went out of her way to help-even when my vein collapsed where my IV was originally: she very easily established another one. She obviously has solid phlebotomy training as she nailed both the 1st time. The staff of doctors, and nurse practitioners found a pneumonia infection previously missed at a different hospital where I had emergency surgery. My nurse practitioner, Casey Toon, was also super nice; and she was observant. She was able to quickly and accurately evaluate and treat my health concerns. I do highly recommend this facility and their kind and courteous staff. This was probably one of the best, if not the best ER experience I have had. Thank you so much!

Waiting room attendemtswere friendly and efficient. I was seen right away. I had tests and results without a long wait. The nurses were great. IV was put in with very little pain. Doctor was kind and acted with concern. After Diagnosis I was sent home with instructions. I have no complaints.

Over 3 hour wait in ER waiting area before taken back. There was only 4 waiting but others had come in and went back before me. After I got back it did not take maybe 30-45 min before they decided to admit me into the hospital. Hour later I was in a room. I was told the procedure would be done between 7-10 the next morning. The procedure was done at 2:30 and I was awake at 3:15. Doctor said I could go home at 4:00. I kept calling the nurses desk to go home. They kept telling me someone would come in.. finally at 8:00 someone came in and took the I.V. out. I was already dressed and walked out. No-one brought me out in a wheel chair or followed me out. I waited outside for my wife to come pick me up. The wait time in the ER waiting room is stupid. The staff should get you out of the hospital when the doctor tells you you can go home NOT wait until they see fit. If there was another Hospital in town I would go to them.

Staff is incredible. Please, go with the understanding that these professionals are working like crazy in the back taking care of patients. Understand that space is limited and they are doing everything is being loaded on the front end for those waiting so speed up time once you get to the back. So, when leaving a review, base it off of your experience not your wait time. ALH, you provided me exceptional care and I am greatly appreciative our town has you!!
