This practice has been in the Ayer area for over 10 years, delivering high quality Boston level care. The providers are always here (rain, sun, hailstorm, snow storm - doesn't matter, always here)

I have learnt to appreciate the care that i receive here, nowhere else i would rather be.

Great credit to the staff and doctors

Had appointment today with Dr valez. My appointment was at 8:45. My testing done. Another lady was there and her appointment was at 8:15 and Dr valez not even in. With that I cancelled and will not be returning. This is not the first time, but it will be the last. How rude and unprofessional on Dr Velez part. Your staff however, should be commended for having to deal with so many complaints. I've seen it. Your staff has always been very pleasant. So start treating them better!!

- I was given the wrong address and didn't have the practice name so I couldn't just Google. Now I know...
- When I called back to figure out the right address, nobody answered. It was not the lunch hour.
- I was seen 45 minutes after my appointment time, despite only being 5 minutes late because of the wrong address.
- I was led from room to room with zero explanation of what was going on, what the tests were for, or even basic instruction like "look at the green dot" or "don't blink". I'm pretty sure the results of any tests are not accurate.
- I was not prepared to spend upwards of 3.5 HOURS at the office. This could've been communicated when I scheduled the appointment.
- After two hours of waiting, when I complained about how long it was taking, the DOCTOR (not the staff) was insanely rude and condescending. She says, "I don't know if you've ever BEEN to a specialty office, but this is how it is." (I have, in fact, been to many many specialty offices, both opthalmologist and various other types of practices, so I'm probably more familiar than the average person Absolutely none of them have ever been like this)
- I counted how many people were scattered throughout the office waiting... Because there are multiple waiting areas. It was over 35 people. NO MEDICAL PRACTICE SHOULD HAVE OVER 35 PEOPLE WAITING TO BE SEEN BY ONE DOCTOR.

There are no negative stars to give so I had to pick one star. A wait of 3 hours for my elderly mother to be seen indicates a true “eyeball mill” at this practice. Poor professional staff, terrible medical care and only concern is for the doctors to make tons of money. My mother now sees Dr. McCabe’s office in Leominster and she has never been happier with a caring, considerate staff and a doctor who takes the time to explain everything to her and works with her medical insurance to tailor her treatment appropriately. She is now back on track to excellent care for her macular degeneration.

I am finished with this practice. I just do not know how there appointment process works at all. I was on time and I go to one room. They ask me some questions and then tell me to look up to put eye drops in my eyes. I was not feeling well anyway and I could have asked for what but no info was given. Then onto the next room and testing equipment, then down the hall to wait for another piece of equipment. Then I sit in the hall waiting to see the doctor. People come after me and are seen before me. 1.5 hours for an apt. Last time it was 2.5 hours. I guess that is an improvement but I just do not have that time to waste. And last appointment I got a new prescription that was significantly different than any of my previous ones. I was told that my eyes changed. But when I filled my contact lenses, I could not see the signs on the road. The doctor explained that was her intention since I was having difficulty seeing close up. But this was never explained to me. Now she is suggesting I see optometrist in her office to sort my script out. I do not think so.

Outdated, dirty and poorly maintained office area and bathrooms. 3 to 4 hour waits are very common! They constantly over book patients, dilate your eyes and hold you hostage.High turnover rate! Absolutely no way to run a business.Time to close this practice!!
