I went to Cape Cod Hospital surgical center for a same-day surgery with Dr. Jones. I just had say what a wonderful experience I had with all of the staff at the front desk, in pre-op, in the OR & in post-op. Every single person that I met with was so kind and so genuine. Their professionalism made a huge difference in my experience at CCH. I felt so comfortable, well taken care of and well advocated for throughout my entire experience.

I was admitted to the ER via ambulance with a life threatening blood clot in my leg. ER was waiting for me when I got there and were already prepping for surgery which not only saved my life but saved my leg. I had many complications due to my immunity system but every step of the way I had the best care. 8 days in ICU and 10 days on the floor showed me what an extraordinary group of healthcare professionals Cape Cod hospital has.

OMG what a wonderful and beautiful hospital. First time using their facilities as my father was feeling sick and we brought him to the ER. Very impressed with their services and there staff , plenty of free parking. We brought my father to the ER and the staff were kind and just wonderful. The inside of the ER is very bright, big and spacious. They had all their stations in the middle of the floor (Open concept) and all the rooms surrounding them. My father had a room right away in the ER, after all the test were completed it was determine my dad was suffering from gall bladder disease. He was admitted within a couple of hours and Dr. Kalliath performed surgery the next day, he had a wonderful room and they took care of him like gold. The rooms were spacious and bright, he could order his breakfast, lunch and dinner out of their menu. I must say their menu selection is very good.

We are so blessed this hospital was here and the way the entire staff treated my father and DR. Matthew Kalliath were just outstanding. ALSO if you happen to pass the Mugar cafeteria and love Chocolate pudding, you MUST get one or two.

The horror stories are endless.
I had a friend die there. While being treated at the hospital for a broken leg he developed compartment syndrome. The family expressed their concerns at the issues developing in the leg. The doctor was at a retirement party at the time and said he would be by to check on it in the morning. The kid never made it into the morning.
My own father went into the ER for a possible heart attack. They discharged him and immediately we brought him to another hospital. The second hospital discovered he had a severe heart attack. he almost lost his life.
I went here after having extreme pain in my neck and head (I was vomiting and blacking out). They sent me home saying I was fine. I went to another hospital immediately after as I was in really extreme pain. They discovered that I had a severe concussion and whiplash from a ride I was on the day prior.
I had a neighbor who they diagnosed with cancer, put her through chemo for us to only find out she actually didn’t have cancer, it was a misdiagnosis based on them reading the wrong chart.
My husband damaged his thumb severely while chopping wood. The nurse called him a baby because she wanted him to move his thumb and he said he wasn’t able to. She made fun of him and acted like he was lying. After much hesitation and arguing, she finally included on the discharge papers a referral to a hand doctor for follow up. We went to the hand doctor who found his tendon had been severed and he required surgery to repair it. she was shocked that they didn’t push for surgery when the injury occurred. Had we waited he would have lost all function of his thumb and pointer.
My daughter became very ill when she was a toddler, so we ended up rushing her to the er. The nurse asked when the last time was that she had peed to see if fluids were flowing through. She decided it was best for them to find out if her bladder was full by ordering a catheter. A catheter on a toddler is not an easy thing. The person doing it was aggressive and rude and caused a tear while we were yelling at them to stop while we figure out the best course of action. Thankfully a family friend was working in the er that day and rushed over to stop the madness. She took the person who was doing it aside and yelled at them and at how unnecessary it was to handle it that way. She said “well the mom couldn’t tell me how much was in her last urine so I need to do it to see if she has enough fluids”. It was ridiculous.
Children, elderly, anyone is routinely dismissed.
Shall I go on?
There is more. But that’s enough for now. The most recent issue I can’t even talk about because I’m so upset as I lost a loved one this time when we shouldn’t have. The terror that this hospital has caused by not listening to people is insane. I have had one or two decent experiences there and people do need to realize the er is for emergencies, it’s not a doctors office for general check ups. But the issues I’m talking about here were all urgent situations that caused for an er visit.

Never ever go here alone, be sure you have an advocate it is extremely important to have a witness. Obviously they do a great job at keeping this out of the public eye somehow. Why is it mainly word of mouth or google reviews that we hear about this? Most of the people affected have tried to sue but it’s extremely difficult . This is a small but busy hospital and people here don’t really have many choices to go elsewhere. If we did….they wouldn’t have the volume of people they have.

You may get lucky and have an awesome staff sometimes. But the chances the experience will go wrong is high. Document everything. Watch any and all iv areas for infection. Get a second opinion. Record your interactions. And if you feel like there’s still an urgent issue, go to another hospital do not accept there answer.

This place has caused so many issues and me and my families lives over the years but this one takes the cake. I have had eye pain for weeks and recently got severely worse, very worse. So you would think the ER would do an MRI or something! Nope, they didn’t even look at my eyes and then told me “I’m not giving you an MRI and we don’t have ophthalmology here anyways” word for word what he said, horrible attitude and just showed ugliness. So terrible to treat patients that clearly are here for an emergency. Where did the continuity of care go? Sad sad humans

I was patient at Cape Cod Hospital several times between June and October. I can’t say enough about the staff’s professionalism and the great care I received. Every employee from the doctors and nurses to housekeeping were so supportive and kind. The hospital was clean, the food was good and most importantly I received great care.

My MIL had to stay the night and everyone was so sweet and caring but Michelle from Pharmacy stands out for going above and beyond. It is through people that any organization becomes human and caring. Michelle is such an asset to your organization.

I went in and sat in the waiting room for over 2hrs. Ok understandable that they’re busy but everyone was going in the back before me and the rudest nurse was at the front. I got into the back and no nurse came to get me I only saw the np and I asked a nurse just for an ice pack and no one brought me one. One nurse told me she doesn’t know where anything is. I’ve never had this bad of treatment.
