My experience was mostly with one Rn. who had a great technique for administering shots. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication regarding medications that were time sensitive for after the ER visit. I was able to get the meds prescribed a few days later just in time but that kinda mess up could make a world of a difference. The Rn. mentioned being on their 3rd 16h shift in a row and I was there in crisis so the miscommunication could have happened on either side but maybe CCHC should reconsider their policies regarding schedules and medication administration. The Rn. was a bit high-strung but kind and empathetic. Grateful to have had her as the Rn. on shift that night ✨

would rate less than 1 star if I could. negligence doesn't even cover it.
few months ago my spouse was in the ED for severe headache and dizziness...given a steroid and IV fluids and blood was drawn, but before anything resulted a nurse came in and said "we need the room," took the IV out and discharged. Provider tried to stop it and had my spouse sit in a chair and wait to talk to him but never came back. Next day we see the blood work in the portal, blood sugar was OVER 400!!!!! No one said ANYTHING!!!! Luckily we got in with our PCP quickly and had things handled but it was appalling experience.
Two days ago, my spouse is in the ER again for head pressure, neck pain and numbness. Got put in fast track, then belittled and ignored for hours- they refused to do any blood work or IV. My spouse was having trouble walking and asked for a urinal and TWO DIFFERENT NURSES refused. "You walked in here, didn't you?" (No, brought in in a wheelchair) And "you can't get up and go yourself?"
My spouse had to basically beg for help over the course of HOURS. Eventually it seems like the providers got fed up with being asked and drew 2 labs, didn't say anything about them, gave a bunch of meds all together without explaining anything and discharged. Provider didn't even do an exam.
Unbelievably disgusting how patients are treated here. Go ANYWHERE else.

I had the unfortunate experience of developing afib this fall out of thin air. I was at CCH emergency department weekly for months. Many of those trips I had to be cardioverted and needed a lot of testing to determine what was going on. Aside from one or 2 less-than-stellar interactions with a nurse or a doctor, everytime I was there, the team was outstanding. Even when the ED was full, the nurses and doctors always took time to check on me and made sure I was being taken care of. Everytime I needed a cardioversion, the nurses, the respiratory staff and the doctors were all reassuring during a very scary time. I moved here 2 years ago from the NY metro area. I was worried about healthcare here. I had heard stories about CCH not being great. Well I can tell you now, being a young, healthy woman and having had a lot of experience recently, the ED at CCH is really great. Even when I didn’t always get along with a doctor or a nurse, I felt cared for. I felt like they really were doing all they could to help me and keep me safe. Which is really all you can ask for.

No one wants to be in the ER. It makes such a difference when everyone you encounter genuinely seems dedicated to providing you thorough and compassionate care. Each nurse, intern, and doctor was kind, caring, and informed.

I had an issue with heat exhaustion while on vacation this year - leading to sever dehydration an headaches. I walked into the ER on a Saturday morning and the place was empty - I was triaged in about 3 minutes, and before I could even pull my phone out - I was being called in to see a Dr and ushered into a private room in the ER. While I know my experience may have been unique - it was everything that I could have wanted.
Dr Nicols - and the Nurse that tended to me were incredible. Super friendly, caring, asked a ton of questions and listened. The Dr was very thorough, ran a bunch of different tests to rule things out - and thanks to his diligent efforts, he found that I had a pretty serious infection - which was leading to the headaches, fevers, etc - and it was not related to heat exhaustion!
Thanks to the work of the ER team, I am now tracking down the causation of the infection and other issues that were found as a result.

I have been dealing with Capd Cod Hospital for many years. Recently I had health issues that landed me in the ER 4 times until they finally admitted me into the hospital. The doctors in the ER kept telling me that I was pretty much making up my symptoms because they were not able to find anything wrong. The 4th time going I was extremely dehydrated, had extremely low potassium and had lost 20lbs in only a week (all this in a 35 yr old other wise healthy person). Once admitted into the hospital I was treated somewhat kindly by most the CNAS and the NPS but the doctors on the other hand not so much. I had doctors telling me to take medications the wrong way, confused because THEY couldn't find out what was wrong with me. Then my stay lasted 2 weeks because a machine needed to take a certain test was broken and it was the ONLY one they had. They can build a whole new wing to this hospital but I had to wait a week for them to get a part to fix a machine. There doctors almost seem as if they were thrown into Cape Cod Hospital from other places because they are not that competent at what they do. I had one doctor looking up information about how to take a certain medication on Google. This all took place in August and September of 2023, after two weeks I left there still not well but not knowing what is wrong with me. It's February 2024 and I still have no idea what my condition is. Doctors on Cape Cod in general are not very good. Now my husband is dealing with problems at Cape Cod Hospital ER as well. Whenever they see a young person or someone of color or even someone that does not meet their standards, they assume your just there for pain meds. They treat you unkind and almost everytime your sent home not knowing what's wrong with you and wishing you had just stayed home and continued to suffer. Cape Cod is a beautiful place, I've lived here my whole life but when it comes to health care I definitely don't trust them with my life or my childrens lives. There are maybe a handful of doctors here that care.

June 22 and 23rd 2022 yes 2 trips to the ER. I received such great care at Cape cod Hospital. Incredible Doctors, Nurses, radiology staff and all other staff members , Triage are very professional and orderly. Everyone was so
professional and caring. I felt so safe in in your care.
Thank you for Healing me and the best care. And, by observing the care you have given to other patients you are amazing and are truly are angels on earth.
Thank you, for the great care !

Overcrowded. Four hour waits for any care. One restroom? Yet can build a new tower overlooking Hyannis harbor. Most nurses overwhelmed but kind. First doctor very kind but overruled by a second. Paranoid that everyone is a drug addict looking for opiates. If Tylenol worked for all pain wouldn’t we just stay home and take it rather than wait hours for pain care. All medical staff talked about patients negatively in a loud enough voice that anyone could here the conversation. Such as “The patient in room 2 wanted something stronger than Tylenol for her headache lasting three days” Maybe she needed it
