ATI Physical Therapy - Belchertown, Massachusetts

Over the past few months I have had the opportunity to receive services from the ATI in Belchertown. Colleen my physical therapist went above and beyond trying to make sure I got the best possible treatment for my condition. While there, I got to see the rest of the staff who are very dedicated and caring. The atmosphere is upbeat and loving and I would recommend this place to anybody who needs skilled care, encouragement, and being treated like they matter. It is so hugely important when you're not feeling your best.

I rarely write reviews but I promised I would and I'm happy to do so!

Short version: Becca and Stephanie are awesome, go here for your PT, you will not regret it! Everyone is professional but personable, makes you feel comfortable, gets you to laugh, think and be relaxed but be able to heal. They have true passion for their craft and the most important things of all for someone looking for healing: Expertise, empathy and kindness.

Long Version:

Went to my doctor after I hurt my back, and felt I needed an MRI. Got X-rays, doctor referred me for a MRI but my insurance said no.... you have to go to physical therapy first. When I received that letter, I was truly dreading going to PT, my one real experience was years ago and it was bad at best and horrible at worst. I knew I had to go if I wanted to at least try to feel better.

My doctor's office suggested going to ATI in Belchertown which was right next door to my doctor and close to home, very convenient!

I showed up for my first appointment, met Leah at the front desk. Very kind, polite, courteous, efficient, always asks how you're doing! So already a good start!

I met Becca for my consultation, she asked me questions about what was going on and I was nervous. I always feel when I'm having to describe something wrong with me that I'm being judged or wasting someone's time. After just a brief few minutes, this feeling pretty much disappeared. Becca made me feel comfortable and that we could truly try to get to the bottom of what was wrong. She didn't dismiss any of my concerns or thoughts at all, and would always answer my questions even when I still was trying to self-diagnose. She showed fantastic patience and empathy with me, and also demonstrated that she knew and had passion for her field. It was at that point I was pretty certain my whole experience was going to be different than my past one.

I met Stephanie by my second appointment, she is funny, calming, a purveyor of jokes, riddles, facts, and other brain teasers. All designed to get you to laugh, think, exercise your brain and otherwise feel at ease while focusing on recovery. Working with her was a joy as while she would instruct you on something she would stimulate your mind or funny bone. In chatting with her, I found she loved her work and had a strong desire to help people get better.

Evening and Friday appointments were especially fun as usually everyone was ready for the day or week to be done and we would all have a good laugh while working through our stretches and exercises.

By the time my appointments ran out and were all done, I found I didn't want them to end as I looked forward to them, they were uplifting both in mind and body and helped to relieve much of my pain.

I went there for the first time in 2018 and back again recently. Both times I had excellent experience. The physiotherapists worked as a team, were very professional, very friendly and always made sure that I was doing my exercises correctly.
