Recently I've gone back to Atrius Health. when I was a child I was taken here when it was Harvard Pilgrim I believe. I was told this office has gone downhill but I decided to give it a try but I do have to agree Atrius is not good at all. It started out small with rude receptionist in internal medicine when you ask them for referrals and unprofessional people conducting the lab work. Recently I was having stomach issues and today January 8th I had a follow up with my PCP. Upon arrival I was asked for my insurance card at the front desk because I had recently just switch insurance. I was told to be seen today I had to pay a 300 dollar deposit because my insurance isn't active until 12th of January. I told the front desk I cannot afford that and that there must be some way to be seen today and bill me Monday the front desk told me go speak to internal medicine. I go speak to the receptionist in internal medicine who is already on the phone with the front desk warning her I am coming. She asked me when did I want to reschedule and I asked her if there is a way to be billed on Monday and be seen today. She goes and gets the manager who first asks me how I am doing and then asks me how badly do I want to see my doctor today. Number one that is completely unprofessional number two none of her business. She then says well I see you were seen back in December and I just want to know if your stomach has gotten better or worse. AGAIN none of her business she is not my doctor and I want to add this is all being said in the waiting room of internal medicine at the desk. She tries to reschedule me to come back Monday but that doesn't work for me. Bottom line was pay them the 300 deposit or leave and if I didn't like it contact corporate. She also explained if they billed me on Monday and saw me today that is insurance fraud. I have never been turned away from a doctor's office before regardless of my insurance status. And if they say they try to accommodate and give alternative options is complete BS. This place is overwhelmed with clients find a different practice if you're considering.

I never write reviews, but I'm going to now
I've been coming to HVMA/Atrius Health for over 35 yrs. I always liked that they had everything right there in the facility (lab, x-rays, pharmacy), but I so frustrated. I see quite a few doctors from here (in fact, I really like my new PCP Mackenzi Kim). However, they say the best way to get in touch them is to send a message through the myhealth portal app, which I do unless it's an emergency. And everytime I get a return message it's NEVER from my doctor! It's from a staff member who at times (like today) will give me an answer that has nothing to do with anything I have said. This is quite annoying! I don't want to get a reply from Nursing. I want a reply from my Doctor.

Now my Neurologist, everytime I send her a message either I don't get a reply or finally days/week later someone will contact me. I have practically begged her to change my
migraine medicine and she did not address it until I continuously pushed it. I've recently had brain MRI'S. One came back abnormal. She actually called me (I was shocked), but unfortunately I missed her call so she sent me a message through myhealth. When I replied and asked her to explain, she never replied. Due to the abnormal MRI, I had to get a CTA. That came back normal. Instead of calling, she sent me a message stating, "I hope you're doing well. Good news! The CTA was normal. What was seen in the abnormal MRI was likely artifact". I wrote back, "No, I'm not doing well! Nothing has changed. Living like this is miserable." I'm currently suffering from debilitating headaches and severe dizziness. Did she reply to my message or call NOPE! To me that was not good news. I want them to find something so they can fix it. I've been living like this since November 2024. Maybe it wouldn't be since November if messages/phone calls were returned.

Another thing I don't like, I see a Rheumatologist. For that I have to travel to Sommerville. I have an ENT. I have to go to Burlington.

Finally, the Chelmsford facility is now closed on the weekend. So I've had to go to Burlington. I'd like to know why Chelmsford is closed.

Regardless of which doctor/facility you choose, please make sure you advocate for yourself.

Excellent OB department! I was under the care of Amy Li, NP and Dr. Wolfe, MD for my di di twin pregnancy. From the very first day Ami Li reassured all was going to be well and not to worry. Both providers put me, the patient first and addressed every question/ concern the entire pregnancy. Amy Li and Dr.Wolfe are true professionals, knowledgeable, kind, encouraging, caring and always welcoming. Dr.Wolfe made it to my delivery on her day off, there was no provider at the hospital comfortable to deliver a breech baby vaginally (Twin B). My entire pregnancy I stressed about the possibility of having a c section, as I never had one with my two prior pregnancies. Dr.Wolfe is trained and comfortable delivering breech. I truly appreciate her efforts and can’t thank her enough for doing this for my family. I know it took a lot of work on her day off and to top it she was traveling back home. Both providers are exceptional! Thank you for everything Amy Li and Dr. Wolfe.
Highly recommend them as your OB providers in Chelmsford.

High Risk department in Burlington were also great. I seen them often for ultrasounds Very kind nurses and providers as well.

Finally, The Lab department staff were great as well. No complains.

Appointment was scheduled and I provided clear information to the nurse and submitted lab work that was previously completed by a 3rd party. Doctor was 1 HOUR late to the appointment. I was greeted, not with an apology, but "I don't know why you were even put on my schedule with your symptoms." I was then NOT provided treatment, but was referred to a clinic who will "treat my symptoms and will not review my labs." When I asked if I could be treated for the root cause of my medical issue, I was told "you're looking for functional medicine. That's not what we do." Here is a definition of functional medicine. If this is what you're looking for, find another health care provider: "Functional medicine is a patient-centered, science-based approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and treating the root causes of disease. It's based on systems biology and combines a holistic approach with modern understanding of biology, disease processes, testing, and medications. Functional medicine providers take a detective-like approach to solving patient cases, looking for imbalances that may be causing illness. They believe that restoring balance is key to restoring health.

This review is only for the Internal Medicine department as I don't have much experience with any other departments. Communication with my PCP's office is terrible and they are horribly disorganized. Late last year I saw my PCP in person in order to request an order for a visiting nurse for medication management support, which they did. My insurance company finally found a VNA at the beginning of this year, but the start of services was delayed significantly because my PCP'S office kept communicating with the wrong agency. My insurance company and my case manager both sent multiple messages to the PCP explaining that their documents were being sent to the wrong place, to no avail. It went on for week after week, with my case manager even getting on the phone multiple times to try to get them to understand the right name for my VNA agency and yet somehow they kept repeatedly sending my orders to the wrong company. What should have been corrected with one message took multiple messages and phone calls from multiple people because to say Internal Medicine at the Chelmsford office is disorganized and has bad communication skills, it is an understatement. It was finally sorted in May I had my intake with the VNA and was all ready to start my med management support at last, except suddenly the visiting nurses can't get any of my my meds filled. Apparently the PCP's office is refusing to fill ALL my meds, and at no point do they reach out to me or the VNA about it. The PCP is not returning messages to me on MyChart, and is not even communicating with the VNA they they were the ones to write the order for in the first place which as I understand it is a huge professional faux pa. I have a PCP who wrote the order for me to receive med management, and then proceeded to refuse to give me meds. Confusing much? All this after delaying the start of services for weeks because they were sending my orders to the wrong agency. At one point I got through to somebody last month and their explanation for withholding my meds was that they thought my VNA services had been cancelled and that I was no longer receiving med management. What? How does the office that wrote the order for the service not know it is still active? My VNA is not cancelled, they are still coming every week and we are still trying to get my meds but I am running out of things and at this point I'm looking for a new PCP. The other departments might be okay but Internal Medicine in Chelmsford is a disorganized, unprofessional joke.

Very unfortunate that every single time I come here, I’m waiting at LEAST 45 minutes to an hour after my appointment start time to see the doctor!!!! Absolutely ridiculous. Please do better!

This is specifically for the pharmacy: Man downstairs, unsure of name, but was working 01/29/24 around 3:00 pm in Royal blue scrubs was extremely rude and disrespectful during my checkout experience. Rolling his eyes, announcing loudly that I “couldn’t afford my medication” when the issue was that I was told the copay was going to be less, rolled his eyes when I said my doctor said there could be other options for me. After the situation over the copay discrepancy was explained to me by another staff member, I said to him thank you for looking into that for me I didn’t understand and was ignored. Overall horrible experience. This is my first and only time I will be using the pharmacy here. I typically use CVS and have never been treated like this, even when potential issues arise. Hopefully this person will be spoken to or staff evaluated so no one else has an experience like this.

I've gone here for years. It's usually decent for the most part. Although, my last visit left me a bit disappointed. It wasn't the doctor, no, it was the medical assistant who did my check-in. They told me to sit in my car on arrival and wait for them to call me to come in.

The medical assistant calls and says they are ready so I said, "great, I'll be right in". I was very, VERY sick that day. I had a pneumonia (undiagnosed at the time) and am an asthmatic. It was difficult for me to walk at a normal pace without feeling winded. From the end of the call, it took me maybe 45 seconds to get into the building. Keep in mind, the MA didn't know who I was or what I looked like, but sure enough I see an MA standing there, checking her watch, literally bouncing up and down going on her toes saying, "cmon cmon cmon, hurry up!" and of course it was the one assigned to me.

I thought this to be very disrespectful. I could have a disability that impedes my ability to move - I don't think less than a minute to get inside after a phone call check-in is unreasonable, especially in that condition I was in. She should not be judging and showing that much impatience. Especially in the lobby which was crowded at the time. I've worked in customer service and healthcare jobs. That behavior is extremely unprofessional.
