Good cleaning. Very friendly, informative assistant. I'm just waiting for my dentists' opinion on molar that she noted had lost some filling. He wasn't in during my apt.

I began my dental journey here as a pediatric patient in 2000, under Dr. Falco's care, and remained since. Maggie had been my hygienist for the past several years, and she was always kind, attentive and gentle. Overall, a pleasant person (with adorable corgi dogs) who made you feel welcome, so I was sad to hear she was switching practices. For my most recent cleaning, I was assigned a hygienist whose name I can't remember (first/only experience with her), but I'd estimate she was in her 60's with short hair. While I was being led to the exam room, she called over her shoulder to criticize front desk staff for not having completed something. I was quite surprised any employee would speak so negatively to their co-workers. Unfortunately, her patient care was no better; when I explained I had significant weight loss over the years during medical intake questions, she asked “well, what are you going to do with all of that skin?” Perhaps she didn't consider this could be insensitive and rude, but I just don't find this line of questioning regarding appearance necessary or appropriate at a dentist's office. During the cleaning, I began to feel pain and let her know. I'm aware that cleanings can be uncomfortable, but this was enough where I felt the need to speak up. I was told if I "had taken better care of my teeth, then it wouldn't be hurting." Considering I have had painless cleanings at this location for the past 25 years (I've never missed any bi-annual appointments), I had a hard time believing that. The pain did not ease up nor did she inquire further. Dr. Do came after to do a visual exam. He stated I needed fillings in every single tooth (direct quote, not an exaggeration) and to have my wisdom teeth removed now. If I waited until I was “too old” in my 40's to do so, I'd likely end up with trigeminal nerve pain. I was shocked, since 28 cavities at once seems excessive and my wisdom teeth had been grown in for a decade with no difficulties. The hygienist led me to check out, and spoke with the receptionist booking my follow-up in a low voice I could not hear. As she walked away, my hygienist said "so she's going to need an extra LONG appointment!" with a laugh. I wouldn't have assumed the whispering was about me had she not made it obvious by that comment. This left me feeling confused as why to needing “extensive” and painful dental work is funny, and overall belittled. Since my last visit, a filling I received prior fell out for the second time. The first time it lasted less than 6 months, and the repair broke just a few weeks later. Before getting further care at Centerville Dental, I decided to get a second opinion. Wise choice, since after an exam and x-rays at another practice, it was determined I needed 7 fillings. While this is still a lot, it's just 25% of the teeth Dr. Do stated I needed filled. I was also informed my wisdom teeth are in great shape, and I have enough space in my mouth to continue accommodating for them as before. Removal is not recommended unless there is a medical need; there is no scientific benefit to pulling healthy teeth as a preventive measure to avoid (possible) later care. While I wouldn't want to think performing extensive/unneeded treatments is a way for Centerville Dental to excessively bill insurance for payout, it's difficult to believe a professional, even an extremely pro-active one, could recommend this plan of care. I'm aware there are differing opinions, and what works for one patient might not work for the other, however - I find this unsettling. Browsing reviews, mine is not the first to question this. I can no longer recommend this practice in good faith and I have decided not to return as a patient. I do thank you for other positive experiences you have provided in the past.

Dr. Do has been pleasant and professional with me, as well as the female hygienist I've seen for cleanings. However when it came to my child, the male hygienist was very rude and combative with me. In their defense, TWO YEARS AGO, my little boy was very fearful, he has extensive work done at another facility that offered sedation. That being said returning to Centerville with him, I was treated by the hygienist like an idiot. He didn't even attempt to give me time to explain that my child has overcome his fear and has been regularly getting check ups by the visiting dentist at school. He told me that they don't treat my child and I should have gone to the other dentist that did his sedation and treatment. That I shouldn't have even called Centerville. However they are the ones who originally saw my child. He placed the bib on him and walked out of the room without letting me speak. Dr. Do came in and was professional and polite and not surprisingly my child allowed him to look in his mouth with out a fight. That being said, there was no discussion of treatment at Centerville just another referral because they assumed he'd be difficult again.

Very disappointed in the male hygienist, not nice. At all.

Awful. I went here since I was a child. At 21 their whole scheme changed to hungry for an insurance payout. They insisted I needed 2 crowns with root canals. Reflecting on it, my teeth looked and felt fine, and the xray was nothing to write home about! With GAD I needed to go to somewhere with anesthesia, and they recommended seeing them anyway! Despite this I went elsewhere. After being ghosted by another dental clinic, I returned here. I made an appointment to check my teeth. I insisted on 3 separate occasions the story of waiting for crowns a year ago, and now being concerned for my teeths condition, and wanting them checked on. At one point I needed to reschedule, when I called the receptionist said "oh, you're getting crowns?" I relayed my story again, and said I just wanted my teeth checked on. Somehow despite this, I show up for my appointment and they roll up the table, "so you're here for crowns!" ready for the damn payout. No I'm not! "I specified multiple times I just want my teeth checked on" "but we scheduled you for an hour"..... Okay..... Then they bring in the man with dark hair. Who was so incredibly rude. When he knew I didn't want the crowns this day. He described the condition of my teeth to the other dentist saying there's cotton in them. I said "cotton?" He said "yeah, that's what they put under the temporary fillings, your fillings are gone. call (other dentist)" I said I have profusely. "call more!" "we can't help you!" and he started unclipping my dental apron. So unbelievably rude, tiny bit because I was getting exasperated and trying not to cry but mostly because this office doesn't truly have it's adult clients wellbeing in mind.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Do, Dr Suzuki and their staff! I am new to the practice and Dr Do has been correcting some poor dental work my husband and I had in the past. Everyone is so kind and professional. From cleanings to crowns they have been amazing!
