Dr. Affonso (Jesse) was fabulous. He explained all of my options and was very candid with each. For me, one of the best things about him is that he was familiar with my records BEFORE he came into the exam room, not waiting to review them during the visit. Very glad I was referred to him for shoulder surgery. Highly recommend.

Dr. Affonso performed a left reverse total shoulder replacement on me in 2020 and I returned to him 5 years later when my dominant arm was having similar symptoms. It was a very arthritic joint with a partial tear of my rotator cuff which allowed me to have a straightforward shoulder replacement. One week post op and my pain is managed by ice and Tylenol. I’m independently caring for myself, my pets and my home and will begin outpatient PT in 10 days with a goal of normal range of motion and strength in my shoulder and pain free mobility. Dr. Affonso is your man if you have a shoulder injury or arthritis.

Dr Affanso performed a reverse shoulder surgery on my elderly mother and we had a very good experience.

HOWEVER, she recently had a bad fall landing on that shoulder and was in extreme pain. (She went to ER and they took an X-ray but no fracture was seen. She was given meds and a sling). We could not get an appointment with Dr Affanso’s office for several weeks, thus my mother continued to be in pain. When we finally got in, we saw the PA, who was extremely arrogant and dismissive, basically telling us that there is nothing really wrong, probably a severe bruise, she is old and it will take time to heal and she should be patient. It did improve but was still bothersome.

About a month later she was back to extreme pain. Same scenario. Went to ER , couldn’t get an appointment with Affanso for a few weeks. Saw the same PA again, who continued to be dismissive and said it will take time.

After some argument, he reluctantly agreed to order a CT scan. We were told someone would contact us within a few days. Nothing. We called them and we did get one scheduled (again a few weeks out).

When we went for the scan, it couldn’t be completed because Dr Afonso’s office ordered the scan for the WRONG shoulder. We had to schedule again (another 2weeks).

We just received the results and she has a fracture in her scalpula and severe trauma around the prosthesis! Amongst other things.

When we did not receive any kind of communication regarding the results, we reached out to them. They said it will take several days for the doctor to to review the results and scheduled an appointment (yup, you guessed it) in two more weeks.

Totally negligent and unacceptable in my opinion. Good luck to you!

He is the outstanding leader of an exceptional and knowledgeable crew of medical professionals! His accommodating and understanding of his patient and their problem is truly both comforting and relaxing . This is one of the finest medical teams you will find anywhere! He and they are an asset to our community and much needed! I am glad to have them all on my care team 100+%!!!

Friendly greeting and checked in well. X-rays taken almost right on schedule .Technician Kelley (sp) very personable and efficient in positioning. Moved to exam room with little wait before being seen. Dr. Jesse Affonso so good at listening and addressing concerns and developing plan for diagnostics and treatment. Very impressed and satisfied.
