The best thing about this place was the delivery technician...and I feel bad for him because I'm sure he's the first one that deals with customers/patients attitudes when in fact it's the customer service department. Every single person I spoke to and messages through the website sucked and the ball was dropped. You have no business in communications whatsoever. I want whoever the customer service representative was with the all the positive feedback was because I damn sure didn't get them. And valmar, please do not respond back with your generic message thanking me for my feed back and apologizing that I feel this way etc etc. Save the time typing or whatever source communication you choose to use. Products are good but your customer service representation sucks.

No you guys didn't follow any updates I gave or requested if you had, I would have gotten all medical equipment on the same day at the same address at the same time....so stop lying.

The skilled nursing facility that was rehabbing my 101 year old mother ordered a wheelchair from Valmar in March 2024. The wheelchair was delivered at the end of March. The cost of the wheelchair was qualified by Medicare.

It soon became apparent that this particular wheelchair was not suitable for my mother- too big, too heavy, physically exhausting to maneuver. At the direction and request of Valmar, my mother's attending physician prepared a detailed specific letter of medical necessity to effectuate a wheelchair exchange. Even after we complied with Valmar's documentation request, they refused to provide a suitable replacement( they did offer to sell us a second wheelchair)

I facilitated 2 three way phone calls with Valmar and Medicare- again Valmar refused to offer a no cost exchange, despite the fact that Medicare advised that the wheelchair swap was authorized as a medical necessity.

Medicare has filed a complaint against Valmar on our behalf.

A complaint has also been filed with the Attorney General of the State of New Jersey.

Based on my experience, I would strongly discourage anyone from doing business with Valmar. And based upon the consumers reviews posted on YELP, I question the authenticity of the reviews posted here

The driver Todd Archer delivered two defective items to us. I addition, he left the hospital bed next to my brand new BMW and I was so nervous that it would fall on my car. My daughter went outside and stood by the bed to make sure it did not fall. He was also very rough. When he carried the bed inside the house, he was hitting walls and dropping things, very disrespectful. He also left empty boxes on my driveway and didn’t take it away. I called the company multiple times and left messages for the supervisor to call me but no one ever did. I hope to never deal with this company again. Very bad experience.

Extremely poor customer service. Ordered 6 batteries for oxygen machine and assured next day delivery for requirement to fly. Received 1 battery; missed flight and cannot speak to a manager. Representative says she is "coordinating" response from her manager and warehouse manager. When asked for direct phone number of manager, she said she didn't have it. When asked for last name of manager, she only provided first initial of last name.

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST! Gives delivery and pickup windows that are 8 hours long and no shows. Lies and says they came by and no one is home, when people are home and have surveillance cameras showing no one ever showed up. Has happened 4 times. Today said they came at 7:13, 47 minutes before the pickup window. No one appeared on the ring camera which is set to record every 15 seconds. Very dishonest company. Piss poor customer service which offers virtually no satisfactory resolutions. Use a different supply company if able to.

On behalf of my 89 years old Korean War veteran father, we strongly recommend not to ordering any medical equipment from this company. Yes they answer the phone in a friendly manner, but once they hear your problem, they start to shirk their responsibility to help, and they will say "the specialist will check and get back to you" or " I have consulted our specialists and they recommended you to contact your insurance company". The truth is they will not get back to you as I have experienced this since this June till now. At the time when my father was discharged from the rehab center, the rehab ordered the wrong wheelchair from Valmar for my father, and I contacted the Medicare and my father's insurance company for their advice, Medicare and my father's insurance company said that wheelchair replacement is allowed and the equipment provider should be able to switch the correct one. But Valmar Surgical Supplies didn't want to make an effort to get through to Medicare and insurance company, they just kept telling us that "we can offer you a discount price and you will pay for it by yourself, or try somewhere else" this is all we 've gotten from June till now... My father's insurance company even asked them to show a denial letter showing that Valmar tried to get a substitute for my dad, the insurance company told us that if they saw Valmar was making a reasonable attempt, they would work with us, I informed this to one of Supervisors in Valmar but they only wrote me back that "we know the insurance company will not cover and we have seen this before, so you either pay in a discount price or try other company", this is a typical lazy service and just did not want to deal with my father's case. I have more to say about how unsatisfied we were when dealing with Valmar for a much needed wheelchair replacement, but I'll stop here. All I will say think twice before you think about ordering any medical equipment from them, once they get your insurance money, they will walk away and use all sorts of excuses not to help you solve your problem. And they also won't return your calls like they promised when you called them.
