Hello, I thought I would share my experience. I transferred over from Burlington because my DR had changed jobs to another practice. I met my new physician DR Logan and I have been seeing her for about a year now and I’m very pleased on the way she cares about her patients. She takes her time and she is very knowledgeable and wants the best for her patients. I never leave reviews but I truly believe that she deserves a great review because I have not always felt that way in the past with the community health center. I would be lost without a good doctor that can listen to you and steer you in the right direction health wise. So yes I’m very happy with the service I receive at the Essex Community Health Center.

My provider was super rude to me, Sarah Arvidson. I am changing my providers because I don't feel like she had any compassion for me. She also lacked pleasantries and was very combative when I spoke to her yesterday, saying things like "That's not what I asked you"and "That's not what I said." She was putting words in my mouth and was so defensive!!! She was VERY rude, and I hope to not see her again. She spoke to me like a child, spoke over me, and had a really bad tone, and it was very clear that she did not want to be sitting there with me as her patient. I also heard other providers talking about other patients to each other and it was super inappropriate.
Additionally, I had been calling and leaving voicemails for 2 days and no one ever returned my call and I had to come in person to address that and that's when I was informed Sarah had an availability. These community health centers employ providers who are unhelpful, rude, lack empathy and compassion and also do not provide the same level of care as a private office. If you can afford a private office, please go there and avoid these "community health centers," because its a waste of time. If you need to go to one of these, avoid the essex one and winooski. I don't know if they don't get paid enough or if they're overworked, but its clear they don't want to be there serving their community and they shouldn't if they're going to be rude and make people feel worse than they did walking in.

I've had great experiences with most of the doctors here (Blake McKnight especially, he's fantastic) but Dr. Vogt is another story. I haven't had first hand experiences with his care but my partner has. He's gone as far as saying he feels she's faking an injury because "she doesn't want to work". Unless you're comfortable being talked down to and having your concerns blatantly ignored, please avoid Dr. Vogt like the plague.

Helpful staff that I’ve been able to easily reach. They have far better availability than the chc near me. They have super kind nurses and I appreciate Dr. Vogt’s knowledge. And my referral went through in a couple days. As a queer person, I feel the staff here is knowledgeable and pursued forms of medication that I asked for and were willing to try new things.

Please, if you do not enjoy your career, change it. You work in a healthcare field, where's your compassion? Changing my provider as I don't feel as though I'm receiving the care i need.
Not to mention, everything is rushed. My health conditions weren't explained
thoroughly, I had to ask many questions as my suspicions had risen by the lack of response/education that I received from my Nurse Practitioner. Aside from that, I never once complained about a provider. I personally build great relationships with my providers, and always felt confident, positive & educated after my visit. Here, I felt nothing but confusion, worry, and disappointment. This clinic needs to focus on treating people with kindness and respect. We come to you for help, not to be shamed for the reason for our visit. Providers should not have snarky attitudes when a patient asks you questions, rather you should have patience & understand where the patient is coming from.

Highly recommend Sarah Arvidson! She is compassionate, listens, and cares! She made me feel very comfortable and not only asked about my mental health but asked about me and my life. It is very rare to find a Doctor who sees you as a Human.

Dr. Vogt works really hard to make his patients feel comfortable and does an amazing job of it. The staff have always been helpful and nice. The clinic is very clean and organized.
