I use this company all the time for myself and my patients. The rates for out of pocket are great. If I have any problem, I reach out to my representative (if you are not a doctor, you should ask your doctor's office to do that, especially to solve any payment issues).

The only glitch we've had is needing to ship samples early in the week in order to make sure all tests can be processed properly. I am surprised to see all these negative reviews as I have been using Boston Heart for almost a decade and have not had patients complain about them.

Just to be clear, I have no relationship with them other than I order tests for my patients (and myself when I need them).

Boston Heart has been so wonderful to me and all of my patients. They offer amazing heart health testing like the cholesterol balance test, HOMA IR for further investigation into a diabetics glucose and insulin relationships, has been amazing for me to better guide patient treatments.

This lab is also more affordable with and without insurance, for patients. Their open fee schedule allows me to show patients the price list, ahead of time, so they understand the charges they may be responsible for, if insurance does not cover or how much their out of pocket fee will be. They also have a wonderful financial aid program for patients if needed, to apply for help.

The staff has been nothing short of amazing, each time I call with questions. They have a great round of professionals to that helped me learn to interpret the cholesterol balance test and HOMA IR w Beta cell function test as I was starting out.

I highly recommend them for both patients and providers.

As a physician, I am appalled by lack of customer service and care given by this company. I was billed for a lab study that could not be completed. They agreed to refund my money. I have made 9 calls speaking to various reps who said that it would be taken care of. This started in Aug of this year. It is now the start of Dec. This is ridiculous. Finally, one attempted phone call yesterday with a hold time of 15 min before I hung up. Two attempted calls today and each time on hold before the call was dropped. How do you run a business like this?

If I could give them a negative star I would. I had to use their service for COVID testing for international travel. I was required to use them by my government agency. The agency would cover the cost. When it came time for me to file my expenses I could not because I didn't have a receipt. When I contact them for a receipt they told me I owed $50 above the agreed cost. I was escalated to a person that said they corrected everything and billed me the correct amount and would send me the receipt via email. I waited and waited and no receipt. I had to file the expense without a receipt. 3 days later I received a bill with the charge $50 above. I called them twice and got their foreign call center who apparently didn't know how to use a hold button or just simply hung up on me. Needless to say, this company either doesn't care about their customers/patients or are simply incompetent. Why anyone would trust their medical business with this company is beyond me. Stay away. Don't waste your time with them!

No one ever answers the phone. They will not get the insurance straight. I switched doctor's to not deal with this place doing my labs.

Having the Boston done every year has been vital in helping direct my care and for me, as the patient, make adjustments to my diet and lifestyle. The standard panels your primary doc runs for your physical don't tell you enough of what ACTUALLY goes on in your body. It's like the Cliff's Notes of Chaucer's works and only talking about The Canterbury Tales.

Nadine with CS has been extremely hands-on in helping with posting results and reordering the test after FedEx messed up the delivery. She's always very responsive and will find solutions and/or answers to what you bring to her.

A great company for your lab work!

Billing department really sucks. Not sure if it even exists actually. Wait on hold for an hour a few times with no answer or no indication of wait time. Left voice mail and no call back. Most companies billing dept are responsive since they usually want to get paid. Not these guys I guess.

At an initial visit, my new doctor told me she was sending lab results to this center and that I would get a statement -- that the cost would be "accessible." Two days before my fu visit, I contacted the doc's office to report I'd not heard from BHD. They gave me BHD's number and suggested I call. The person I reached w(c)ould only tell me I owed $150, which she offered to take right then; she said she could give me a link to see my bill, but that it would not identify or itemize the tests I was paying for. I told her I would pay after seeing the doctor again, then, and knew what I was paying for. I made sure they had my contact info so they could get in touch with me if they had any concerns. At that point, she told me that until I paid the bill, the results would not be released to the doctor. That's reasonable, I suppose, but then they should be willing to give the payee an itemized bill (if not the results, as well). No real choice -- I paid the bill, sight unseen, and hope the doctor has the results when I go to my next appointment. So THEN... I used the link to access the bill. The link required birth date as verification - so far, so good - but the site would only accept that date when I selected it from its calendar. The starting place was Nov 2021. The ONLY option was to go backward, one month at a time, until the right mo/yr showed up. I was born in 1945 -- you figure out how many clicks that would have taken. God willing, I will never do business with BHD again. To give the call center contact some credit, she's not responsible for BHD's policies or website -- she remained polite throughout.
