I went to the pediatrician office for my 5 year old daughters physical .

We went this morning and seen Beth Shaine who has never seen us before and vise versa. As soon as she walked in the room, i can already feel the disconnect. I stated my concerns, one of them was i needed a new cardiologist referral to the same one she seen last year for concerns. She asked me why i wanted the cardiologist referral and i told her my concerns including the abnormal heart beat i was auscultating, especially during sleep.

She then questioned me “ why are you listening to her heart ?” And i responded with “ because i can and im her mother ? “ she then responded with “ well what are you listening to her heart with ? “ i said with a stethoscope 🩺 ( I’m a nurse so yes i have one but even if i wasn’t a nurse i would still have one).

She then stated “ well are you a medical professional?! “ and i said “ yes I’m a nurse “ BUT that’s beyond the point. She offended my intuition as a mother ! she then proceeded to tell me that she wasn’t too concern about the heart beat ( even before she listened to it ) but that she’ll take a listen to it during the visit.

Anyways, at the end i was right and she has a split s2 . She ended up giving me the cardiologist referral after i kept telling her YES i want the referral . The nerve of her even asking me why I’m listening to my own daughters heart beat ? And questioning me about assessing my own daughter’s health in general is insane to me.

My daughter has been seeing all different types of doctors here for the last 5 years , and out of all these doctors no one heard the s2 split ? That’s ridiculous to me, and has me questioning how well these medical professionals anre assessing our children!

I do not recommend Beth Shaine!!!!!!

The docs are very kind- but the wait is insane. You’re told to arrive 10/15 minutes before your appointment and then end up waiting 20 minutes past your scheduled appointment time. Whoever does the scheduling needs to be fired- who makes a sick kid wait 30+ minutes for a scheduled office visit?! Also, the care is cost preventative. If my kid has had pink eye many times in the past (daycare kiddo) do I really need to come in for an office visit? They just want to bill insurance for a sick visit to get paid. It’s unfortunate because the docs are very kind but the practice itself isn’t run with the patient in mind.

I've been taking my son to this office since he was born. He's now 13 months old. The staff has been absolutely wonderful and everyone has been very nice! My appointments have always been on time and they are so professional and informative about visits. And the staff and providers have been so gentle with my son, especially when he gets his shots. Even his VIP sick visits have been on time and the staff has been so understanding. As a new mother it is so great to have an office that is so thorough and
takes good care of my son during visits.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Would not recommend sending your children here. I moved to the area from a big city and enjoyed our previous pediatrician, and was thoroughly disappointed by NAP. This practice was less than satisfactory in many ways. When I didn’t feel comfortable bringing my children here anymore, they began harassing me in a threatening manner by phone and mail to schedule appointments. Highly concerning behavior from a medical office, as a former medical receptionist myself. Seems very profit-based as opposed to children’s health being at the forefront.

We’ve been so happy with switching to NAP for both our kids. The hours/availability can’t be beat, and the providers (we’ve seen 5 or 6 of them now) have all been smart and professional. And as much as I usually hate medical portals, theirs has mostly been really helpful for prescriptions refills, communicating with the doctors, printing documents, etc. I thought I would really miss our small town/one doc pediatrics practice, but the perks of a larger practice really do outweigh those warm fuzzies.

I was not happy about my visit my son waited over an hour we had to park in the back parking lot and wait to be called in it's called VIP it was a covid area where they take you into my son didn't have covid I don't think he should have been with covid patients they said he had to be there because he had a sore throat which I can understand but my son didn't have covid on top of that I had to ask the nurse to change her gloves before she put her hands near my son's mouth or face they told me the appointment took so long because they got their patience mixed up I went to this doctor's office since I was young and now my children go there but it definitely has changed a lot not so much in a good way way longer waiting times hard to get appointments not very clean. Very disappointing

Doctors and nurses are amazing. Read some other reviews about not being able to see the same doctor twice but we have always seen the doctor we requested except for walk ins. Love that they have the option of walk ins. Very thankful they would still do her well visit during the pandemic. Never see other people in the waiting room (waiting in cars). And their online system is great

I am so frustrated with NAP. If you have a choice please go somewhere else. I have seen so many doctors with my now 2 year old son. We like his first one and then she left the practice. I called this weekend for an emergency consultation for my son and they took forever to call me back then scheduled a doctor to call us at 12:15. NEVER CALLED. We are having an emergency and I have had to call back 2 more times and still not heard from the doctor. On another occasion they shamed me as a mother and made me feel so small. Seriously the worst.
