This review is based on Marc J Zerbe, MD. Everyone else there has been great, including the woman at checking.

Pardon me for putting my business out there but I have to address it, and in order for anybody to understand this review, well I have to get a bit personal. Mind you I've never even met the man personally.

I was interested in getting a mirena to help with heavy periods and Mary O'Brien, Cnm was lovely and explained my options. I went home and had some time to decide what I would like and what works best for me.

My IUD insertion was scheduled. I voiced my concerns of severe anxiety regarding getting an IUD because I had a bad experience with a previous IUD, which moved, and upon removal snapped in half and was it came out I was in severe pain. Not to mention when it moved it gave me contractions like pains. The other half proceeded to get lost inside of me for a long time.

Mary O'Brien seemed very understanding on my anxiety. Well, she has been out sick and Marc J Zerbe, MD has been taking her messages and what not. Well he refuses to prescribe me a medication for anxiety in order for me to be able to be able to get the IUD inserted.

The lack of sympathy for women's healthcare and genuine concerns on behalf of this man is sickening.

I will continue to have this issue until I can get seen by a compassionate and understanding doctor elsewhere.

And I hate to sound sexist but Marc J Zerbe, MD has no business in women's healthcare if he cannot take something as serious as severe anxiety serious in order for me or anybody to receive the healthcare they need and deserve.

I will be filing a complaint against Marc J Zerbe, MD

The only redeeming factor about this place is that the front desk woman is LOVELY, she was super professional and friendly. However, Mary the midwife seems to have quite an outdated view on a lot of things.. I will just say this, if you are sensitive about your weight.. do not come here. Leaving this review because I wish I’d seen one similar before going.

Midwife Brenda has made me feel uncomfortable ever since I had my first obgyn appointment at 17. At 17 I felt pressured into getting my first Depo shot and I gained too much weight. She was adamant I should go on birth control because I don't know if my then boyfriend was cheating and I did not want to get pregnant before college. Very disgusting assumptions to be honest. As if we were sleeping around with random people due to our age. As if a pandemic wasn't going on either. Since then, I did not go back and switched to Baystate OBGYN when I got pregnant at 19, planned with my then boyfriend and now fiancé. Due to how far it was for me, I switched to Holyoke after I gave birth. I felt pressured by Brenda once again to go on birth control. I told her due to her, I gained weight I could not loose until AFTER high school to loose weight. That if I was going to go back on birth control, it would have to be something that WONT make me gain weight. Well, Brenda didn't inform me until AFTER I got my hormonal IUD. She wasn't the one to tell me anyway. My doctor told me at Baystate. I was confused as to why I was gaining weight while going to the gym 7 days a week. I wasn't informed by Brenda that ovarian cysts are COMMON with a hormonal IUD. I am now switching my IUD because it's been over 6 months, my periods are still extremely irregular. They are worse actually. I had to wait WEEKS if not MONTHS for more news on my cysts. Brenda is extremely unprofessional. Making disgusting assumptions of my relationship. I'm currently doing extremely well in college WITH my child. I LOVE Baystate OBGYN. They treat me like a person not a check or diagnosis which is what Holyoke ONGYM does. Who tf doesn't inform a person that they have painful cysts since January until March? And doesn't update them from their March ultrasound AT all. I also told them I wanted to take my IUD out and they made me feel as though I need to keep it while I cried how uncomfortable it made me feel.

Edit: I also had to wait a good 2.5 HOURS for my IUD placement. I had to find a ride because my appointment was around 2:00 ish and I left so late...

Had an IUD placed in November and I still haven’t been able to get it checked. It’s been 5 months. My appointment has been changed without telling me multiple times and my iud still hasn’t been checked.

Update: I came in today to sign a release so i can switch to another place and a woman at the front desk named Katie was able to help me out and get me seen right away. I think I’m still switching to a different place but I super appreciate her help. Thank God for people like her!!

This office is TERRIBLE! Go somewhere else.. I’ve been trying to be seen for a week now and they keep giving me a run around of “I’ll call you back after I speak with a nurse” and never get a call back. I’ve called almost every single day and not a single person will help me get an appointment. They have my records, my labs, everything they told me to get and they are REFUSING TO SET ME AN APPOINTMENT. I’m pregnant and need to be seen but they couldn’t care less. I suggest everyone to find a new OB office.

they won't see me return to that place. they know how to waste a persons time. prior to scheduling my appointment i informed them how important it was and how concerned i was with my health and confirmed they were accepting new patients and my insurance, which was two weeks before my scheduled appointment. i got to my there and while filling out the new patient paperwork some lady was there complaining how they were taking forever and had her sitting there forever but i took no mind to it. i give them my paperwork and sit down and then within minutes the from desk lady tells me they will not be able to see me because the doctor is unavailable. Not only did i just drive over there but i took time off work to be there. NEVER WILL I RETURN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

I recently had a problem with Medicare not paying a claim I had since March of 2023. After many phone calls and disputing the denial they have finally resolved this!! Along with the help of Brenda Maloney, MS, CNM and Kayte. Thanks for all your help! Very caring Doctors and staff I highly recommend
