I have been with my doctor for years and she moved to the fairbanks clinic where I can say is a wonderful place. They got me in early and I always have an awesome appointment with my doctor. I would recommend the fairbanks clinic to anyone needing a kind hearted experience. Everyone is absolutely wonderful.

Sylvia McCormick is the best doctor I've ever had! She follows up with me and uses her own research to treat conditions I could likely get like diabetes before they become a game changing disease. This is a very invaluable medical service to me!

I was a client of Fairbanks Clinic for nearly 20 years before the Drs.Thomas retired and the clinic was sold. There's lots of little stuff I can pick at but there's one huge issue: They cannot keep medical staff.

Since they reopened two years ago I have had four providers: a nurse practitioner, two physicians' assistants, and a MD. The clinic called me last week to say that the MD has left, and I needed to reschedule with someone else. When I asked what was up the receptionist said, "Well, that's Fairbanks."

Any referrals they give seem to disappear into the ether. I've had prescriptions get written incorrectly. Co-pays have disappeared from the record. As I understand, the supervising physician for the PAs is not on site, but in North Pole.

I tried to stay with the clinic after it was sold, I really did, but five medial providers in two years? I'm moving on.

Tried to get established as a new patient. Used their website to request an appt and no one contacted me for a week so I called and had to leave a message because THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. Had to be “approved” before they would schedule me. Asked if they were in network with my insurance and was told no- but we bill like we are. That was a lie. Went in for my appt and the visit was fine, the doctor was fine. Felt like he was going through the motions and didn’t really care about my health. I went and got all the tests they wanted to establish a base line and then they called to move my appt because the dr no longer was going to work on Fridays. By this time I had got my bill (and knew they had lied about the billing) so told them to just cancel the appt. Would NOT RECOMMEND.

I hate to give low reviews of medical offices but I’m saddened by how far the Fairbanks clinic has fallen. When it was still owned and run by both Dr. Carl Thomas and his wife , it was an excellent established practice. Once it was bought it became a cold streamlined place. The NP does not take her time and seems frustrated with her own staff. She decided the medical assistant had taken up too much of her appointment time and sped through my appointment in less than 5 minutes for a new problem. It felt like I was back at a military clinic. The office building is nice but the medical staff seem rushed to get you in and get you out within 15 minutes. Very sad to see. I gave the office several chances but I have moved my care elsewhere.

All I can say is Mrs McCormick took my health an ran with it. She could tell I was tired of being miserable an over weight. She put me on a new path to getting healthy.
