I tried to be seen at the OBGYN department at John Muir Health for two months. Over the course of 2 months, I had 3 different appointments scheduled at 2 different locations.
My first appointment was at my preferred location and was cancelled. I was told that there were no available appointments at my preferred location before the end of the year (when my insurance expires). I therefore had to make an appointment at another location in their network that was further from my home.
I had an appointment scheduled for early December and on the day of, I came to find that that appointment was also cancelled.
I had a third appointment made for Dec 30, only again to find out, the day of, that the appointment was cancelled and that there were no other appointments before the end of the year.
I made it clear when I made the appointment that I had health concerns and was unable to be seen by any health professional before my insurance expired. As a previous patient with Kaiser, I never had this experience and find this, frankly, outrageous. Would not recommend John Muir Health’s OBGYN department.

The receptionists, nurses, doctors and security guards are friendly and provide a good service. Easy parking although the spots are pretty tight. It's convenient that there is a LabCorp on site. Deducting 2 stars because of the ridiculous money hungry policies of charging $25 and making you wait 3-5 business days for an LIC 701 form and making you schedule an establishment of care appointment where they do nothing at all except order lab work, before you can schedule a physical exam.

All of them, one by one, are irrelevant here.
I had a freaking COUGH that wouldn’t go away and came here FOUR different times. I heard all possible scenarios from post nasal drip to bronchitis! They will give you an XRay and charge you an arm and a leg but they don’t even touch you and examine you. They just write on their computers.
I kid you not, if you have the tiniest other option, even if that is to fly to another country, please take that option.

This clinic has serious issues with continuity of care. The doctor I see forgets what was done at the last appointment, even though I’m there every week. It’s frustrating to have to remind them about my treatment plan each time. When I see a different resident, it’s even worse. They don’t bother to read the notes from previous visits.

During one visit, the doctor said she would redo my vitals at the end because my blood pressure was very low (100/48), but she never did. Their lack of conscientiousness makes it feel like my care isn’t being taken seriously.

On top of that, I’ve been waiting over 12 days for a simple EDD form to be completed. Despite multiple follow-ups, the form is still not done, which has caused a lot of stress and delays in my ability to access benefits. If they can’t handle something as basic as filling out a form, it’s hard to trust them with more critical aspects of care. I wouldn’t recommend this clinic if you need consistent and attentive care.

Two stars for the resident I saw and actually got stuff done. This is not a place to go if you have more than one ongoing health issues. Actually, probably better if you just need one off physicals or something. There is no continuity of care. If you want to see the same person for the duration of their residency, expect two month long waits for any type of appointment and they’ll have no idea who you are when you get there and you’ll have to summarize all your past visits for them to stay on track with care.

The front desk is 50/50. The clinic manager will find any way possible to make your complaint a YOU problem. She doesn’t listen, only waits to respond and has zero empathy for the many issues cause by administrative staff.

I was with John Muir when I had private insurance. I loved every bit of my care. Until life happened and I was forced to go in CCHP. Everything changed after that. I was moved to the residency clinic, and suddenly no longer had the inviting feel I did before. John Muir is not a place to be, as an adult, if you’re in CCHP. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they prioritized payors, too… accounting for the excessive wait times for appointments.

I have tried at least 5 different phone numbers, and spent 5 hours over 2 days to get connected to Dr. Sevilla’s to get a lab order sent for my mom. No connection between departments, offices…. Still no luck getting any help. Im going in person. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! Rating 0

So this place is kinda all over lol.

3 stars for labs - I’d give labs a 3 stars. Typically 10 mins to an hour or more depending on the day you go. The issue is it’s next to Urgent care so there’s always some confusion of the line. The doors open up right into the check in. There is typically always a line. The person yelling your name is never loud enough so stay close cause they say it twice an then move on. They also bill separately from John Muir. The first time they took payment an then deducted my bill from it. You can decline payment an tell them to bill your insurance. It’s a really weird system. I’ve never seen this before.

4 stars pediatrics - I would give 4 stars to the pediatric section as their staff is amazing an overall it’s a great place. I’ve had one issue with a doc telling me how to parent my child and I requested to never see them again. The docs are here to help for the issue I come in for not tell me how to convince my child to wear a mask.

5 stars urgent care. I would give 5 stars for urgent care an the on call nurse. They have always fit us in for emergencies and have always been kind. I have always felt confident leaving knowing we are well taken care of. Even during Covid.

1 star for billing - if you see a resident who’s being over seen by an actual doctor. Instead of paying just your copay…you will also be charged for speciality billing in addition. So a typical $10 charge. Turned into a $45 charge.

4 stars for regular docs PCP. Only issue is they dislike emails. I was with Sutter health an was able to email my doc regularly for info an questions about my health. Any email I send here to my doc they immediately ask for an apt. Which is a copay again.

But between Kaiser an John Muir. After 15 years of Kaisers retroactive care. John Muir is 100% an upgrade. But I would also choose Sutter health in dublin over this place. The other John Muir locations may be better. I am not sure.

A couple of months ago my husband and I decided to start growing our family of two. Well, family of four if you count our two cats, but... it's really just us two. We're working on having a baby and I wanted to make sure I'm as healthy as possible before I begin caring for a mini! My new doctor referred me to the Lab at this new JMH location and I stopped in on my way to work on Friday morning.

At 9 a.m. there were a lot of people waiting ahead of me to give their blood to the lab. I walked out after hearing there was a 30 minute wait, but then returned and sat anxiously thinking about needles for exactly 30 minutes. They were on time and I was happy the wait wasn't longer than I was expecting it to be. The staff behind the urgent care counter was less professional than the ladies at the check-in for the lab. Four women gabbed loudly about one of their new hair color and her new iPhone. Perhaps I wasn't in the best mood because I was scared about the blood work, but it seemed really unprofessional to sit and loudly talk in front of a room full of patients. Don't you have work to do?

Eduardo called my name and led me to a back room and immediately I felt the blood drain from my face. He noticed it too and asked if I was okay. He had me turn away and tied off my arm before tapping on my terrified veins. I barely knew that he had filled all the vials when he was bandaging me up. I bruise really easily and last time I gave blood my arm bruised really badly. No bruise this time! Very gentle and kind and patient with my fear. I hope I don't have to go back any time soon, but if I do, I hope I get him to do all of my needle work.
