My abuser, who has Munchausen's by proxy, was Vice President of the Board of Directors here. I have major concerns about the impact her influence may have had, not just at NAMI Yolo but on local and state policy. My abuser used her resources at NAMI to exert excessive control over me, drug me against my will, physically and emotionally harm me, and perpetuate a myth that I was ill when I was not. Thankfully, she is no longer with NAMI, but I think this organization should be aware some of the folks they are "helping" may have never been sick in the first place. Some people have a pathological obsession with "caring" for a family member.
