. i never thought id have an eating disorder. i refused to accept it i thought i was being gaslight or something. but it was the best experience of my life. like genuinely i smiled for the first time in months at cfd. i had a therapist (david) who was genuinely the most supportive person ever my care team (rachel n david) helped me tremendously they helped me not only in my eating disorder but in my overall mental health as well as my social health. i am so thankful that i was sent here i didn’t know how long it would be but like i had my first thanksgiving meal in years because of the help i received here i was able to start my life anew. if you’re getting sent here or thinking of sending someone you love or yourself to an eating disorder center i recommend cfd woodland hills.

The staff team at Center for Discovery is really helpful, kind, and supportive to patients and their families. They are very competent at helping patients work through and heal from their eating disorder. The materials that we worked through were very helpful for healing from an eating disorder. It included lots of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills. I would highly recommend Center for Discovery Woodland Hills.

Our experience with Discovery Woodland Hills has been very good. The staff is compassionate and experienced, they work well with helping the family better understand and become part of the support system needed for recovery.

Center for Discovery gets 1 star and that is only because Ashlan who I spoke with at length as delightful and reassuring that Center for Discovery is Gender Affirming. After my daughter received a call from Erica she was told that only the eating disorder program is Gender Affirming and not the Mood & Anxiety Program... ? She told my daughter that she is not eligible for this program in Chino Hills CA because it is for CIS women only. So in fact, Center of Discovery is not Gender Affirming. I believe they should remove the entire page that says Center for Discovery is Gender Affirming from their site.

This is completely false advertising. .and it also is a waste of precious time for individuals who are lead to believe one thing and put all their efforts into it only to find out it's false.

I found all the therapists to be understanding
Filled with compassion. I found it to be a safe place to heal. On the down side, there is a lot of staff turnover. Either the company doesn’t treat staff well or the therapists stay until they earn all their interning hours and then find another job.

This was such a wonderful experience for me and i'm so grateful for the staff there during my time. Ive learned many things from the people here, including the other patients that took me under and loved me unconditionally. If you're planning on coming here or looking into it i say go for it, you never know whats gonna happen.
