I recently had the opportunity to visit Stairways Resource Center, and I can’t speak highly enough about my experience. Stairways has changed my life in ways I could not explain! All the staff there have experience with addiction and were able to help me based on their schooling and their experience. It has been a year and a half since I admitted into Stairways. I was broken, homeless, looking at a long term prison sentence, and thought I was a gangster. Now I am employed, go to school, sponsor women and give back to the community, and I am a free women and a productive member of society. Stairways believed in me before I believed in myself. They are the only treatment center that truly cares for addicts and not your money. They have a community that has the strongest bond that you will not find anywhere. And Michael Lynch has a heart of GOLD. He is a true member of Narcotics Anonymous and is so kind and loving to addicts everywhere. This place gives you the safe space to rebuild yourself while repairing the wreckage of your past they love you when you can't love yourself they teach you motivate you and embrace you with open arms The 12 step program of Narcotics Anonymous that they stand on is ingrained and intermental to my personal success no better community than this. Throughout my stay my best house managers were the second and third ones I believe. I forget the order of who were all my house managers. House managers here do get fired for doing the right thing or actually know what they’re doing. As long as you come in with the mindset to work on you without being influenced by negativity or bad influences of others then you will be set up for success in your recovery.

When I arrived at Stairway in October 2022, I had just been discharged from my 14th residential treatment center in the preceding 6 years. Those 6 years also came with more than a dozen detox admissions, 4 hospitalizations for head trauma and liver failure, and 2 visits to the nearest jail. So when I entered the doors of Stairway, I did so carrying only one bag of used clothes, a head full of confusion, and a heart overloaded with resentment, self-loathing, shame, regret, and pitifully low self-worth. In 6 short years I had given away my family, an impressive career in academic forensic medicine, my fortune, my security, and every bit of hope within me. I knew the only way I could ever regain sanity and serenity and stability was to put down the pipe and the bottle and begin the very long and very painful process of spiritual/emotional/mental renovation. But without hope or any sense of power to change anything, I couldn't see a good reason to actually remain clean. Giving up altogether seemed like my best bet. Had I gone anywhere else, I have no doubt I would have given up. But giving up and giving in is a very hard thing to do at Stairway, because Stairway gave me hope when I had none, gave me vision when I couldn't see 5 minutes ahead, and gave me love when I felt unloveable. When I felt as though failure was inevitable, that perhaps suicide was my only way out of the madness and misery, the remarkable men and women of Stairway just wouldn't allow that to happen.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I have been in a silly number of treatment programs throughout my life in various states, and they all have their similarities. Stairway, however, stands apart as something radically different, refreshing, and remarkably effective - even for a hopeless addict like me. Their methods are intense, their approach can sometimes be aggressive. Their efforts to help addicts like me and countless others are relentless and driven by nothing more than the spirit of healing and helping a guy like me find freedom to live clean and breathe fresh air again. The lengths that Michael Lynch and this remarkable community will go to see that the addict has a chance TODAY still boggles my mind. I am nearly 20 months clean now, and am still amazed by the by the commitment of this unbelievable group of people. As someone who has failed magnificently in his efforts to get and stay clean, I say without hesitation that Stairway is the best treatment program that I have NEVER imagined.

Thank you Michael Lynch, Jessi Brown, James Miller, and many more for giving me exactly what I never knew I needed. My gratitude for all of you and what you have given me seems to have no limit. I recommend Stairway absolutely and with no reservation whatsoever. If you want to get clean, stay clean, and build a brand new life, mind and spirit, then Stairway will make it happen. Period.

I am a Stairway man for life. I say that with furious pride, unbounded enthusiasm, and absolute certainty.
