all of the 1 star reviews are correct. the worst is the offshore calling service. customer service with your health, should never be handled by people who's 2nd language is English. so much miscommunication, erroneous information, limited access... etc, etc, etc. I;ve been dealing with 2 problems for days and days, and when i call into the customer service, they have to start completely over with me from the beginning of my issues. They sent me to a doctor and told me this doctor was in my network, went to the exam, doctor told me he was not in my network. The wouldn't approve an MRI from my surgeon. he's a nationally recognized surgeon, and wouldn't approve my MRI. etc, etc, etc...

Terrible! I can not get a provider that accepts this insurance to save my life. The number provided on my insurance card is not contracted with them. Nobody is contracted with them. I have to go to the emergency room to get seen and it coast 350 dollars per visit. Not bad for an er visit but when that's the only option you have to be seen It's expensive so the end result is I can't be seen I have been bleeding for months and I'm being told nothing is wrong at the er they tell me to follow up with a primary care well guess what I can't find one that works with health net.

Worst insurance ever. Do not recommend. They denied medication that was changing my life for the better. Worst costumer service. Now I have too start a different medication that makes me ill. I had too stop it because the side effects were so awful. Now I am nothing and feeling so angry that they made me do this. DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE!!!!

Worked there as a programmer. Worst management ever. Incompetence and favoritism throughout the department.
It's also a terrible healthcare company that makes it very difficult for people to get claims paid, if at all.
They should be shut down.

Most people get insurance through their employer and therefore have limited choice. However, if you DO have a choice - or if you are an employer decided which insurers to partner with for your employees - run, don't walk, away from this insurance company. It has been nothing but nightmares. I have spent countless hours on the phone, writing emails, have been passed around to multiple representatives and no one is able to provide answers or help. I have had the insurance company take so long to fix a billing error (it's still not fixed, 7 months later) that the bills were headed to collections. I have the same billing error, costing thousands of dollars, every time and yet they cannot figure it out. It is the most incompetent, poorly run company I have ever had the displeasure of engaging with and if I never have to be a Health Net member again it will be too soon. I would pay 2, 3, 4 times what I pay in premiums and deductibles just to avoid this company. It is impossible for me to overstate how poor the service is. I'm not the type to post bad reviews, but this has been absolutely beyond bad.

UPDATE: After about 9 months almost all of my incorrectly processed claims have been correctly adjusted. This solution required a formal complaint filed to the CA Department of Insurance. Odd how the company continually told me there were no issues and they were processing claims correctly until the state DOI got involved. :-/ ... Again, run, don't walk, from this trash insurance company.

Under my Cover California chose Health Net Group on 10/23/2023 PPO Plan and specifically gave my Primary doctor. Paid $515.91 for Nov. Premium but came with different Primary. On Nov. 16, 2023 they took out another premium for December which was not authorized. Had to change the plan to HMO and paid another $322.00 on Nov. 20th but they never changed it after taking the premium. Covered California has on the record HMO but not Health Net who took the premium in advance on PPO and HMO. More than 10 phone calls and no one was able to explain and they could not understand or speak English. The Worst HEALTH GROUP! HEALTH NET IS SCAMMING WHO EVER THEY HAVE THE CHANCE TO DO IT. NEED TO FILE CLASS ACTION AGAINST HEALTH NET.

Health Net should be embarrassed at the state of their website. I'm regretting going with them over Anthem just because of this. It is not user friendly - the provider search is not functional at all. I don't want to have to call them every time I need a doctor and at $600/mo, they should have plenty of budget to create a website that functions like it's 2024. Given their current website it's quite obvious that they do not prioritize their customers.
