Dr. McColl of The Village Doctor in Woodside is personable, super smart and incredibly thorough. He’s also very attentive and accommodating, willing to address any concern a patient may have, be it serious, routine or just plain trivial. He has an amazing network of specialists to which to refer. His office staff are equally friendly and helpful.
I was satisfied with Kaiser for many years, and still believe strongly in their practice model; but this is something else altogether.

Dr. Maia Mossé is absolutely incredible, warm thorough and caring. She goes out of her way in every single aspect of managing your care. She is excellent at coordinating care with outside specialists when needed, thoughtful problem solving and proactive management of care. She has caught critical things that other doctors I've seen have missed or simply disregarded. She is incredibly detailed and articulate in her communication while somehow also managing to be very prompt. Before joining the Village Doctor I was looking for someone who'd be an advocate for me and my family's care after years of frustration with the declining quality of care at PAMF. From the first meet and greet to now (about 6 months in) she has continuously demonstrated her advocacy for our care and I couldn't ask for more. You feel genuinely cared for.

The support staff here (the medical assistants, front desk, admin) is absolutely phenomenal as well. Every one I've dealt with has been very professional, polite, prompt and caring.

I felt listened to - the doctor went over my relevant medical history and heard out all my symptoms before telling me what he thought was going on and how to take care of myself to get healthy the fastest. I shopped around for 6 months meeting with perhaps 7 outfits in the SF peninsula Bay Area and I settled on Village Doctor and Dr. Maia Mosse. The concierge network in the peninsula seems very well internetworked and fit with my doctor and the clinic was the most important thing.

Obviously my first fit item was by doctor and although I was initially looking for an older male, Dr. Mosse has been phenomenal, far exceeding my expectations. I can honestly say she is the most enthusiastic and willing to go far out of her way to come up with creative solutions to one's blockages to exercise, diet, sleep. Her knowledge and ability to explain a prudent path out of all the myriad things people can do for a more vital life these days is very impressive. She has played a pivotal role within the time of 4 months for me to have the best blood sugar and lipid levels I've had in more than 10 years, also losing 20 pounds and counting. She guided me through initiating intermittent fasting and its stuck.

The second fit item was for a clinic which had several doctors, nearby, so they could justify administrative staff to deal with non-medical tasks quickly at the right price point and payment style. Village Doctor fit this for me perfectly. Their staff are super friendly and its always a nice experience to go there.

Despite probably having to move 45 minutes away from this area in the near future, I think I will still utilize the Village Doctor as my concierge practice.

Mrs Nickel is extraordinary in her craft. I was very fortunate to have access to her when she was working alongside a chiropractor in San Carlos Ca.
I wish I had known just how special she was during that time. I am still searching for anyone that can come close to her techniques and her touch.

The world is truly a better place with her in it.

Fake name. Real review. I'm 80 years old and retired. Had been a Kaiser member most of my adult life before I decided to make a change at the start of the year. Kaiser had kept me alive if not really well. What a change it has been! My annual physical went from an hour at Kaiser dedicated to once again cataloging my various complaints, all seen as the simple result of old age, to a concerted effort on the part of my doc at The Village Doctor and the specialists/sub-specialists to whom he referred me to dive as deeply as necessary to fix everything fixable.

Some of what they wanted to do, I really didn't want to do. I've had MRIs before, and it's like being strapped down to a table and subjected to the sound track from Construction Sites on Steroids. Except this MRI came with headphones, and those headphones were playing the episode of Seinfeld I'd had them select on Netflix, viewable on the 50" color TV they also managed to get in that room with the giant electromagnet!

How has it all turned out? The ophthalmologist my doc sent me to discovered I'm in the early stages going blind in my right eye. Have been for a while. Kaiser didn't catch it. Their guy did. Better equipment; more sophisticated test. Simple laser procedure to stop its advance.

Even bigger, I had a serious fall from my Segway last May. (Yes, Segway. I said it!) The Kaiser neurologist found that the poor balance I'd suffered ever since was due to the fall. Turned out it was the opposite: My already faltering balance caused the accident and my balance continued to worsen, not because of the accident, but because I have Parkinson's. I've had it for more than a year. It wasn't until I started at The Village Doctor a couple months ago that a remarkably bright neurologist my doc referred me to figured it out. I'm now on a simple pill a few times a day, my balance problems have gone away, my brain has sped up, my voice strengthened, my productivity has soared, and I feel years younger.

When my husband and I signed on with The Village Doctor, we had no idea we would need their help so much in just the first year that we have been with the practice. And they have really come through for us.
Our motivation for seeking a concierge practice was to have ready access to excellent doctors and staff, and their network of specialists. We had been very frustrated with how long it was taking to get appointments with our GPs (excellent doctors at a large local practice), and the super long waits for referrals.
We interviewed doctors at several practices, and settled on The Village Doctor. They impressed us with their interest in the health and wellness topics that are important to us, and their attention to detail.
We selected Dr. Maia Mossé as our primary doctor. We enjoyed talking to her, and were impressed with her warmth, energy, intelligence and credentials.
Almost immediately, Dr. Mossé diagnosed an issue I have dealt with for my entire adult life. In the past, I asked at least ten other doctors for help with the intermittent symptoms. None of them had any idea what the issue was. In my first annual physical with her, I described my symptoms. She asked me a bunch of questions, went off to research a little, and came back with a preliminary diagnosis and a medication to try. And she hit the nail on the head! One and done.
Since then, she has helped us with attentive regular care, excellent referrals to top specialists in record time, and quick advice even off hours.
The practice has an excellent coverage system, so we have gotten to know some of the other doctors in the practice, when they are on call or Dr. Mossé is out. They are all equally attentive, expert and helpful.
Routine care, such as blood draws, prescription refills, and the like, are super easy with The Village Doctor. We are usually helped the same day or very quickly after. The medical assistants and staff are wonderful! Very friendly and accommodating.
We can’t say enough good things about The Village Doctor.

I am extremely thankful to Dr Maia for her guidance and kindness through my breast cancer journey. Her thorough recommendations and mentorship through my treatment have been extremely helpful.
Dr Maia’s guidance on dealing with my chemotherapy literally pulled me through the process with a positive mindset. I look up to her suggestions for every major treatment milestone.
She touched on many facets of the treatment - Recommended me to get a port, to stay active to keep my energy levels up, made dietary recommendations and encouraged me to keep myself mentally upbeat.
