Was hospitalized about a month ago for 3 days... the staff was attentive, friendly & tried their best to make me feel comfy. The doctor was knowledgeable & patient in answering my questions, the head nurse remembered my name, the nurses & RTs made sure I was well-cared for & the other supporting staff were respectful. I was feeling rotten when I was admitted but through their care, I was able to heal better. Thanks, KP!

I delivered my baby at Kaiser Santa Clara Hospital and had a great experience. I went in on a Sunday and there was no wait time for check-in. All the doctors and nurses were available and attentive from the start. Throughout my labor and delivery, I was treated with care and professionalism. After delivery, the nurses were incredibly helpful and compassionate, both to me and my baby. I truly appreciate the entire team of doctors and nurses for their support and excellent care.

Worst ER experience. Last night I went to the ER for constant vomiting of bile and not being able to hold anything down. I walked in and literally had a bucket in my hands in case I was to vomit again. I was feeling very weak, and the check in nurse was rude. I sat down to get my blood pressure taken, and I began to get emotional due to the severe stomach pain I had. She asked “are you just crying because of the vomiting?”
I disregarded this and sat in the waiting area. I then got moved to a room within the ER. Mind you my spouse was with me. This portion was okay, the ER doctor was adamant that I had a viral infection.
At this point I was told I would be taken to the back area of the ER to be given fluids, and that my spouse could not go with me. This has only been an issue at this hospital and the one on Santa Teresa. I asked if I were to wait in the waiting area if I could get fluids there as I was feeling dizzy. They said I would not receive treatment.
My spouse ended up waiting outside in his vehicle during the duration of me receiving fluids.
When I was in the back area I heard some of the nurses discussing a child that had been screaming in the ER that was potentially on the spectrum. They seemed to be judging his behavior and the parent for not correcting their child’s behavior. One of them even saying that they would punish their future children for any unruly behavior.

Also because I was carrying a bucket/vomit bags. It appeared as if many staff members were laughing at me. Clearly there is no empathy here. I work in customer service, and I would be in trouble for displaying any of this behavior while at work. The ER is definitely
not the place to be laughing at patients, and having a horrible attitude. I get it working in a hospital/ER would be very difficult and there are ways of coping such as making jokes. But maybe one shouldn’t make those jokes in earshot of other patients.

The nurse I had that administered my fluids was sweet and caring.

I had to ask the doctor to prescribe me medicine for the vomiting or I wouldn’t have received any form of medication.

This morning I still felt sick, and still was vomiting. Overall I don’t think that this review will make any changes, but I wanted people to be aware.
I will consider changing my insurance after this and many other negative experiences.

First of all, there was no wait when I checked in. Within a few minutes, I was brought back to get ready for my procedure. The nurses introduced themselves and were all very attentive. They explained the procedure and made me very comfortable. The apologized for the delay, since I was the last patient for the day, but it was understandable. When I was rolled into the procedure room, the doctor greeted me and explaine what he would be doing. He asked if I had any questions, and I did mention that my father had esophogial cancer and he thanked me for that information. Again, everything was explained and my questions and concerns were answered. Once I was put out, the next thing I realized was that it was done. I felt fine. I had no after affects at all. I would never of known I had the procedure. They all made it so easy and pain free. Thank you! Also, in less than a week, I received my results and a call from the nurse to set up my followup appointment with the doctor to discuss next steps and treatment. I meet with the doctor on Tuesday, April 29th. It would have been sooner, but I am a teacher and had to work around my schedule. Thank you, again!

Been a kaiser member for 20 plus years. Had a terrible ER experience at santa clara hospital on 4/11...Wed...10 hrs of agony and poor care. Saw 1st Dr for a few minutes when I arrived around 1pm. Saw 2nd Dr shortly before the released me at 1130pm. It was a horrible experience where no one explained anything to me.

People were crying and screaming. Security personnel ran by. I was begging to go home. By 1130pm the private ambulance arrived to take me home.

During the entire visit the only helpful person was Bryan Ping the rehab pt who came to test if I could walk w a walker. I was able too. Because I am so short and the emergency bed would not get low enough, he helped me on and off the bed. He is the ONLY person I thank.

I got a kaiser survey by email. Took me a couple of days to reply. You cant contact member services anymore.

In the survey i gave the er experience a low rating across the board. I ended the survey with this statement I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GO TO KAISER ER AGAIN!

Years ago I was in kaiser er and the experience was quite different. Now
Kaiser relies on video visits and emails. They didn’t rely on human relations.

ER....NEVER NEVER AGAIN. I WOULD RATHER DIE!

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the WORST kaiser hospital in the whole bay. If you want proper treatment you're better off going to the one in redwood city. I came here on May 14th with my daughter at 5AM because she was very sick fever persistent over 4 days. For whatever reason they decided to do a urine sample on my toddler, no idea how that ties to her cough fever and other symptoms? Next day took her to see her pediatrician in redwood city and just by checking her lungs he was able to diagnose PNEUMONIA. Had I never booked a follow up my childs health would have gotten worse. After the urine sample all the doctor said was "she looks fine" while my child screams in pain whole time she needs to be on antibiotics. How IRRESPONSIBLE. You guys need a better set of doctors especially if you're treating YOUNG CHILDREN. These are LIVES you're putting at RISK!

Preparing for the colonoscopy procedure wasn’t as bad as I expected and the doctors notes were very helpful with what to eat and how to take the liquid and pills that were prescribed. Day of procedure was quick and the nurses were very helpful and explained everything that was happening and were all very friendly. The procedure itself went well and I was in recovery for a short amount of time.

Saying a big thank you to the team who was at the Building 4 lab on Wed (4/16) night. I was rushing to lab to make it there by 7 PM when I thought they closed. I arrived at 6:55 PM and the doors were already closed. I was in a bit of a panic as needed a lab urgently drawn. 2 staff members saw me in the hallway and were so kind enough to still bring me back to the lab. The entire team was wonderful and my phlebotomist made the experience an excellent.
I'm a health care provider myself and it’s a change to see things from a patient perspective.
I couldn't be happier to work for Kaiser and be a Kaiser patient.
