I tried taking my elderly mother there in early January to establish as a new patient there as her primary care provider. After online scheduling, multiple calls and texts from their teams to verify insurance and confirm the appointment, they messed up and had no record of the appointment when we got there and they couldn't fit her in. They rescheduled us for 2 weeks later. Again, I received multiple calls and texts to confirm the appointment, all confirmed. Always for the purpose of establishing as a new PCP... Today, on our rescheduled visit, the Oak Street Health customer care rep, that checks Medicare, incorrectly told us that we couldn't choose our own physician and refused to allow the visit. She insisted that she had to be seen by the doctor at her assisted living facility. This is NOT a nursing home. There is no full time doctor there. So I don't know if she confused that. But according to the Patient Self-Determination Act, passed in 1990, patients are entitled to make their own healthcare decisions, including choice of doctor. The lady there at Oak Street told us we had no choice. It didn't take long to fact check that and find she was wrong. With the visits and phone calls, online appointment scheduling, text confirmations and fact checking, they wasted at least 10 hours of my time for nothing, not to mention my mother's time and comfort, and her home's staff's time in helping. I'm extremely angry about what happened.

Relations manager,, Charmaine Jackson, is so sweet and very knowledgeable she took real good care of me, and told me every step what was fixing to happen which made my visit even more enjoyable, it took a couple of hours to get to know each other from the manager to the doctor and everyone in between were wonderful I look forward to being a patient and have already spread the news, thank you for taking care of us seniors, Anita McDonald

From the front desk to the check-out it was a great experience. The Nurse Practitioner was very personable, professional and interested in my life and view of care. She asked questions pertinent to my point of view. I have been without health insurance since July of 2007 and I will be interested to see how this works. I have yet to have a provider who was willing to collaborate with me on the things that are of concern to me. This was a very positive visit. The lab technician is excellent in her performance, also.

Everyone that I came in contact with at Oak Street were very, very kind and helpful. I absolutely fell in love with each person that assisted me during my visit. Almost makes me want to be a "little sick" (almost) just to come by and experience the loving and warm atmosphere there. I am not making this up - as stated, each person that assisted me was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this facility. Lillie Samuels (not Roosevelt)
