Great Doctor and medical staff. His nurse practitioner BethAnn it's great, as well as all of his other nurses and assistants. His office staff however at times can leave something to be desired. The last few visits have been much better.

The office staff are kind, patient & very efficient. Always go out of their way to help in any way they can. Dr Fuller is amazing! He takes his time with me & my other family members he treats. He genuinely wants to how how you are & what is going on in your life. He is thorough with his assessments, treatments and follow ups. It will be a sad day whenever he retires.

I was indifferent about the approach. They were good Drs for me but now I cannot get an appointment that I need. They have scheduled and canceled 2apts and I never get anyone when I call. Going to go elsewhere as I need treatment and can’t get in. My husband wasn’t thrilled that Dr a fuller wanted to prescribe medicine for borderline high cholesterol rather than discussing diet changes and natural alternatives first. Kind of surprising from a DO.

I really like Dr Fuller for my mom, but....she gotten her 2nd covid shot and caught a cold. I was concerned because she almost 80. I told the nurse about it and she didn't seemed like she cared! I dont care how busy you are! I'm super busy all the time in my profession I slow down to each individual to show I care! If it wasn't mostly for these older people coming in his office you probably wouldn't be there! They bring in money to keep you all in business; so therefore show some respect and pretend like you care!

I've seen Dr. Fuller for years. He's a nice guy and a good doctor, but he's very busy. The office staff is a mixed bag; some of them are very helpful, some are not.

Getting prescriptions refilled is like pulling teeth from a chicken. Dr. Fuller used to be a pharmacist, so he's very concerned about prescription drug abuse. The office policy seems to be, "Make it so hard to get prescriptions that anyone who needs it will go somewhere else." Patients for whom he prescribes controlled substances (including medications for sleep disorders like narcolepsy) must pick up the prescription while the doctor is in the office (generally somewhere between 9 AM and 4:30 PM), and they have to pass a urine test every 3 months (allegedly to prove they're taking the meds, but it's really just a deterrent for potential addicts).

His office has the infuriatingly hypocritical policy that "if you're more than 15 minutes late, you'll need to reschedule." I get that it's a busy office and the doctor's time is infinitely more valuable than mine, but it's a slap in the face to see that sign while you sit in the waiting room for an hour and a half.

The last time I went to an 8:00 appointment, Dr. Fuller didn't get there until 9:00. I had an appointment today at 8:00 to get my narcolepsy medications refilled (having been without them all weekend; was told last week that I'd have to have an appointment), but since I overslept (unsurprisingly), I didn't get there until 8:50. I was told that I'd have to reschedule because both Dr. Fuller and his nurse practitioner were too busy to have their schedules thrown off by me. And no, I can't get my medication (which I've been on for about 5 years) until I see the doctor again. But this was just the latest such incident.

When my wife went to her appointment with Dr. Fuller, she had to wait for several hours before the receptionist informed her that the doctor wasn't even there. They offered to let her see the nurse practitioner, so she waited a couple more hours... And was then told that the nurse practitioner wasn't there, either, and she'd have to reschedule. This happened twice.

Dr. Fuller travels out of town sometimes. If you run out of medication while he's gone, you're just out of luck. I once called for a refill on my narcolepsy meds on a Thursday because I only had enough to get me to Monday. It turned out that Dr. Fuller wasn't there on Thursday, was out sick on Friday, and would be out of town for the following week or so. I could pick up my medicine in the afternoon of the Tuesday after that, a week and a half after I called it in. When I asked his nurse what I should do, since everyday things like driving, working, and pretty much anything besides sleeping would be unsafe without my medication, she replied, "Well, just suck it up, I guess."

I started taking allergy shots at his office in early 2015. To do so, I had to come by every Wednesday afternoon between 1:00 and 4:00. Not convenient, but possible. After a couple of months, Dr. Fuller and his nurse practitioner (Jessica) had the schedule changed such that shots were only given on Tuesday mornings between 9:00 and 11:00. My work schedule makes that impossible, but no alternative was offered, so I had to stop taking the allergy shots.

I guess I could summarize my experience with Dr. Fuller's office by saying that he's a good guy and a very knowledgeable doctor, so it's a shame that he so often (sometimes intentionally) makes it nearly impossible to seek medical treatment for legitimate problems. I would give him only 1 star for making me choose whether to risk falling asleep at the wheel or stay home from work for a week, but when you actually get in to see him for an office visit, he does seem like an intelligent person.

Dr. Fuller is truly an amazing Dr. He takes time with his patients (even if it throws him off schedule some time) but he listens to his patients and has awesome bedside manners. The Staff at East Alabama Family Practice has always been very friendly even though they are very busy. I have been a patient of Dr. Fuller's for over 2 years (we are a military family) and I moved to Huntsville several months ago and continue to drive 4 hours to Opelika to see him as my PCM because I like their Practice so well.

I dread , TOTALLY DREAD the day I have to change my PCM.

UPDATE: I had to change my PCM bc I moved to Huntsville. I am seriously considering lying about my address just to go back to Dr. Fuller. East AL Fam Practice is the ONLY thing I miss toward Fort Benning.

Happy Patient.
