Place is trashed at the ramps/beach area, boats and jet skis do not follow 5mph speed limit. 1 star.
Once you get past where boats can go, and too far for locals. 5 stars!

The creek is great for kayaking, swimming, boating (small craft), fishing, and having a picnic. Some people jump off the cliff walls. Narrow and rocky, the creek offers marvelous Arizona sky and breathtaking rock formations.
McHood Park is the servicing area to slip your boat and grab a park table. Parking fills up fast. There is a playground and a campsite across the way.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of graffiti defacing the rocks and trash litters the area.

We visited in October, using Homolovi State Park as our home base, we took our kyaks to Clear Creek (parking our vehicle at McHood Park) and paddled the entire canyon (as far as possible}. It was the most beautiful trip we have every taken with the kyaks. We only saw 2 other kyakers. This canyon is serene and spectacular with a small wall with petroglyphs. We would highly recommend this hidden gem. There is another campground, McHood Park, which is within the Reservoir, for campers wishing to be a bit closer.

Our family loves going here! It's a ton of fun to go swimming and jumping of the rocks into the water! I just wish that people would be more responsible and take their trash with them. There's not a ton dont get me wrong, but any is too much if ask me.
The water is amazing and its a fabulous place to visit and have fun with friends and family! I definitely recommend using a truck or a SUV if you want to go anywhere away from the main entrance.

Great place to cool off! Had fun with my buddies jet skis. Cliffs to jump off. There are picnic tables, boat ramps and even dry RV sites. Would recommend.
