Why can't you call the Show Low clinic directly without having to go through the Phoenix VA? Very inefficient! Also had a physical therapy appointment I had to wait months for, then they called me cuz the physical therapy guy decided to take time off...no one else can fill in for this guy Where's the "continuity ". Why not have a trainee or something? Not a good experience at all.

I never give bad reviews. But I had the worst experience to date with this clinic in my 30 years of being a veteran. If youre involuntarily assigned Np Dan, kindly say no and transfer your care to Phoenix. I’ve never been treated so badly. And im not even a problem case. Im relatively healthy. My providers and I always have good repor and they appreciate the work I do to stay current with everything and follow their guidence. I think it made their job easier and my life better. I liked them and believe they cared about me as well. But NP Dan won’t even see you in person and he will attack you by message and start making changes to your meds that you’ve been taking for over 7 years. After reviewing his work history and credentials it wouldn’t surprise me if he actually wants veterans to be unhealthy. He’s absolute garbage. VA! Do Better! Veterans! You’ve been informed! Dan, this isn’t personal. You’ve made some mistakes and I have to make sure that another more vulnerable veteran doesn’t get the same kind of treatment. #honor #commitment #courage

Worst VA I’ve been to and that says a lot. Drove 2 hours to come to my apt that they confirmed yesterday. The Doctor wouldn’t see me because I didn’t have labs done. So now I drove 2 hours to come here for nothing. I swear they do this because they don’t want to help vets they rather us just not come in. This is the last time the VA is going to screw me over as I will never visit a VA again!

Veterans who use the VA for health care sometimes give the VA a hard time because they don't like the services offered or they think the employees are too grumpy or even worse, incompetent. However, that has not been my experience at all. I've found the VA to be a great place to go when I have medical needs. Their providers are, for the most part, top-notch, and the VA is also able to provide an array of medical equipment to veterans when needed.

If I had one criticism, it would be that when you are being treated for multiple conditions, your primary care doc and the various specialty clinics and departments don't always communicate well with one another. That's especially true when you are referred to a specialist from outside the VA because many of them are not electronically connected with VA, making it difficult for the VA to be able to include those outside providers' notes and images into the veteran's medical file.

Oh, and a second complaint would be the horrible lack of parking at the Phoenix VA Medical Center if you are required to go down there for specialty treatment.

That's all the complaints that I have.

I'm always impressed at what services the Show Low VA Clinic is able to offer, given its size. They offer a variety of in-person care options as well as a great deal of technology that allows patients to have virtual appointments with providers in Phoenix or elsewhere, using devices that can also provide vital signs and close-up imaging. They even have a computer that a patient can be hooked up to that can administer a hearing test and can fit and calibrate hearing aids, all done as a team by an audiologist in Phoenix and a technician in Show Low.

Well done VA as a whole, and especially the Show Low VA Clinic. You say it to your patients all the time, but you deserve to hear it as well: Thank you for your service.

Worst VA I have been too, I can't get an appointment any with out waiting months. When I get an appointment I end up waiting for hours after my appointment time, but if I show up even 5 min late they cancel and say I missed it. They can not keep providers for what ever reason. Avoid this VA at all cost unless you are of retirement age.

It took a bit to get my first appointment, but once I got in, it was great. The Doc I saw is very personable and attentive. I never felt rushed. This location is great in my opinion.

The VA Clinic, is a military affiliated clinic.

Weapons of any kind are NOT permitted as it is considered a FEDERAL building. Means if you break a state law doesn't matter you're going to be dealing with federal.

Now with the little warning made...

The VA has TONS of resources for people. I have only ever had one bad experience here and that was when I was personally in near hysterics due to a lot of stress and just trying to understand how the VA works since I had just gotten out of active side. So, that one bad experience is really my own fault.

I sadly have to come often but because of that I was able to meet almost all the staff members. They are usually calm and collected, by the end of the day like all human beings (which we forget everyone is human) they can get a little tired and cranky due to long shifts, understaffed, their own stress, or even just a bad day; but even then all the staff work hard.

Their actions are appreciated.

There is plenty of parking and you have plenty of spaving for handicap.

Inside is a little cramped when you look to the left after just entering but it is a clinic and sadly not a full hospital. But they do have a waiting room with comfy chairs, and the last 3 or so months of StarTrek playing on the wall, which is fantastic because who doesn't just MADLY LOVE Patrick Stewart aka John Luke Picard?

The bathrooms are single person use, which I guess makes sense as I don't see families coming here to get their check ups.

I think my only major complaint is that this is just a clinic, and they have to outsource a lot of things because just where we are located is deemed "low priority". Not the staffs choice but clearly, not the best choice from whoever decided their people they care for are "low priority" to take care of. From getting your eyes checked, pregnancy check ups, dentistry, and just basic needs they are resourced out. Though for what the clinic offers I'm glad there is at least the clinic here so I don't have to drive 4 hours to get to the nearest clinic.

Filled out a VA application in Nov. 2021 over 14 months ago. Handed it to a guy at the door. Who said no one was allowed in unless they were getting covid 19 tested. My application disappeared and I never received ANYTHING IN THE MAIL. SO where did my application and private personal information go?
