Absolutely appalled. No return phone calls, no follow up for medication that I STILL haven't received.
I have been going to the office for almost 8 years. Unfortunately, now that I have a medical issue I'm just realizing how poorly run this office is. I'm logging a complaint to BCBS, my insurance. I believe Azul hung up on me yesterday. She FINALLY answered my call after three weeks of me leaving unanswered voice messages. After I gave her my name , she said "hello...hello"...and quickly hung up. When I called right back I got her voicemail. Ok, I get it. I'm not calling again. I will just change my doctor.

The staff is unresponsive, makes me feel like I inconvenience them, they don't do referrals. They say wait a week and call back if you don't hear anything, and we call back 100% of the time multiple times.

My pregnant and sick wife was left alone in a room waiting for a doctor with our toddler for over 2 hours before she went to the front desk only to find out they forgot about her.

They rescheduled a second time and not immediately.

Update: she saw her doctor again, had one verbal communication and he was switching offices. she called shortly after to get a refill, and was told he already moved offices. We have no transition plan, and the phone number provided goes straight to voicemail. No communication on where this new office is, what it's called, or anything.

They have not returned voicemails at either of their locations, our pharmacy is also trying to contact for refills with no success.

Edit 2: after listing off everything that was done in order, and mentioning that I'll file a complaint for patient neglect we got the call and help we needed.

Do not go here.

I needed a new primary care provider coming from out of state. Initial visit went great Dr and staff seemed attentive, but there has been 0 effort on follow up from this office. From not calling the pharmacy to send my prescriptions to not following up on my labs to not providing a recommendation to a specialty doctor to not even returning my calls. They have a patient portal like most providers today but it won’t release your medical info unless you call their office, to which they will not pick up.

Thankfully I have no risk conditions but I wouldn’t know if I did since I don’t have my labs!

Update:

I just got a bill for the labs that I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN. A YEAR LATER. How is this not fraud?

The staff are wonderful. They return calls same day and usually can help out with getting referral follow ups, meds and procedures ordered. I can’t say enough about how great Dr Mosab is. He listens well, answer questions patiently, puts medical terms in user friendly descriptions. Great practice, one of the best I’ve gone to in Tucson!

Dr Bastiampillai is terrific. But the support staff is not. They rarely returns phone calls and their communication is poor.

I give it one star to the front office staff because I have called four times since my appointment for them to refill my antidepressants which was supposed to be sent in the same day I saw the doctor when he sent in my Gabapentin now why do they only send in my gabapentin and not my amitriptyline which is for my depression apparently everybody thinks depression is a joke in this town and doesn't care about filling somebody's prescription that actually needs their medication for depression! I give the doctor a five star because he was amazing at listening to everything I had to say and answering my questions! Sucks

There is incompetence, and then there is blatant negligence. The staff at this office is both. I was a patient of Dr. Bastiampillai for about 2.5 years. I experienced numerous issues with their office in that time and I am grateful to be moving on to a new doctor. The staff does not return phone calls. When you call the office you get stuck down a rabbit hole of recorded messages which say "all phone calls will be returned within 24hrs". This is not the case. When a doctors office refers to patients as clients I think that's a bad sign. They attempted to blame their lack of response on Covid 19, which is a very poor excuse. The doctors are ultimately responsible for their staff, but all you get is excuses. I tried for over 2 weeks to get a Rx refill on an important medication. My calls were not returned and my pharmacy's requests were ignored. After numerous attempts, and several days, I was finally able to speak to Azul, the medical assistant. She informed me that I would need to be seen in person in order to refill my Rx. That is fine, but why did it take over a week of frustration and wasted time to reach this conclusion? Why was my doctor prescribing medication that required follow up visits, and yet not scheduling those visits? If they had returned my phone call in a timely manner then the frustration, and lack of care, could have been quickly addressed. After over 2 weeks I was finally able to see the doctor. I came in hoping for an annual physical and to discuss my medication. What I received was a confrontation. Dr. Bastiampillai informed me that I hadn't seen him in person in 18 months. He asked me what I did for a living, and asked me how I would feel if I didn't get paid for my work. I found this incredibly improfessional, irrelevant, and downright unethical. What does my job have anything to do with my doctor / patient relationship He accused me of not showing or calling for a previous appointment which is absolutely 100% untrue. I confirmed the alleged date of the missed appointment, and I wasn't even his patient yet!! He accused me of using threatening language with his staff. I told him that my frustration and sense of urgency increased each time my calls were ignored. He informed me that he was not prescribing any meds and that he was sending me a letter of termination. So basically he brought me into his office in person so that he could fire me as a patient. Talk about a huge waste of everyone's time and energy! If they had only returned a simple phone call this all could have been eliminated. Instead it became a huge, upsetting ordeal. If you are considering coming to this office for primary care I would recommend very strongly against it. Move and and hope to find an office with a competent staff and better physicians. This place is the absolute worst!

Not satisfied with service. Doctor seems ready to get you out of the office. Came to office and described some symptoms I was having. Doctor did not have any ideas on what could be going on. He literally said " I have no idea " Walked out feeling like I wasted my time coming there. Will find a new provider.
