This review is just my opinion only. I Love El Rio. Dental is great and so is medical. This review is about the Abrams Clinic which had no google site to write a review.

When Marie Johnson was at the Abrams Clinic I was more then willing to take the bus the extra mile because as a medical professional she was top of the line. I never had a cancellation and she spend a good amount of time on you and both her and her staff were the best you could find.

Once she left which was a while back I have had no Primary care provider and have just been thrown from one doctor to another which in no way worked for me. When I asked if I could go to another location that seemed to be a problem due to some El Rio rule which has finally changed.

Worst part about my last visit was the unprofessionalism of the medical station located inside where you are taken for your appointments. The loudest and the child like behavior of employees in a medical environment while doctors are waiting on patients is unacceptable. Grow up.

I don't recommend Abrams but recommend Congress, Cherrybell and the variety of other locations. What El Rio offers low income patients is a blessing to have and in no way can we find such services and offerings any wheres else in Tucson.

I went in today to have a tooth pulled. I have the worst anxiety and Dr visits always get me a little worked up. Dr. Gomez and her staff where so nice. She help my hand and assure me I was doing great. I always feel a little silly when I get like that. I cried of course but she stayed with me and her assistant until I had calmed down some. I can't say any more good things. Thank you for today. I appreciate your patience and kindness your empathy moved me today and I'm grateful for you all.

The referral department is disorganized and unresponsive. I had to wait for over a month for a referral and then it was wrong even after several attempts to get it corrected. I even spoke to a supervisor and she got it wrong too. I called to follow up with a supervisor and didn’t get a call back. The wait time is long as well, not sure if that can be improved.

I am always amazed (yet never surprised) how certain organizations can be so dysfunctional and yet still function. There are two separate billing companies, but it would take you 2 hours on the phone, being bounced from department from department to figure that out. Those transfers between departments take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, so you should absolutely become a patient if you're one of those folks who has loads of extra time that you're looking to waste somewhere. I tried calling the billing department direct line 6 times throughout a day, and no one answered - which honestly is impressive in and unto itself.

If your medical treatment is only as good as your admin staff, you would be in poor hands here.

Dr Arthur and the team at El Rio provided excellent health care. Dr Arthur takes the time to holistically treat his patients. Care team makes my son feel
comfortable when receiving medical care. Switching his provider to Dr Arthur and El Rio was the best decision.

It has drastically improved. It used to be pretty bad but it's much better now. Would recommend. Also getting your labs done is very smooth and they helped me with my needlephobia. Don't have to be scared if you don't feel anything because it was done so well.

The staff and doctors have always gone above and beyond to make sure my child feels safe and secure. They have always included me in the treatment plan and been efficient.

5 stars for the El Rio midwives! This was our second pregnancy, first in Arizona, and the care we received was wonderful. The midwives helped me achieve the water birth I had dreamt of, and were very accommodating to any alternative requests I had made (ex. Alternative glucose testing). I would use them again in any future pregnancies!
