Was nearly bullied to the grave here by their lovely staff last year. Thanks especially to Nurses Ember, Rosita, Frank, & George amongst several others who made sure to keep me awake for several weeks straight defending myself from you constantly messing with me for your entertainment (to the point I almost lost my life). You are some of the most trashy people to call yourselves nurses. In the event any of you should go before me, please give Jackie my best. I’m sure she’s looking up at us now, apparently karma found her fast.

Dr. Kore is the Best Psychiatrist, she is very professional, thorough and knowledgeable. All the nurses and CNA are so helpful and caring. I’ll never go back but if I had to I’ll choose BHU in Santa Clarita. Thank you for all your help and patience.

I was talked down to by Dr.Arjun Reyes after being brought here on false allegations. Said I was observed walking on the middle of the street. Yes that is what was written on his report. And that someone said that I said " I want to hurt you". Completely redidulous allegations that kept me in for three days only to get a sleeping pill and released. Dr reyes said I was downplaying my non existent suicidal ideation, which was really hurtful as I was not having any suicidal thoughts. No one could tell me any details about this walking in the road incident, like a location, time or witnesses. This place is really horrible. My life was absolutely great, and I have never wanted to harm myself or others. Also there were a lot of errors on my report and medications that either thar were not given or not needed such as a smoking patch for my non existent smoking problem, malox for my nonexistant diarreah , sleeping pills I never received,Tylenol for my fever of 99.0 degrees
and was recommended sobriety management for an alcohol problem I dont have. I have had not one alcoholic drink in my life. I am going to travel to los angeles to have the los angeles court do something about having this ridiculous case against me amended. OH and by the way I lived in phoenix at the time and they told me to use the address of a relative to get medi cal to pay for the stay as I live in phoenix and don't qualify.

This place looks nothing like the pictures don't be fooled the rooms make you feel like your in a jail cell
They never clean the shower I saw used washcloths in there for days the staff is great don't get me wrong they deserve to work in a better place owned by someone better than carry quashen he is a scam artist. For people who really need to be here the staff is very helpful and caring the nurses were amazing but do not let carry talk you into his action rehab houses he is a scam artist praying on week people. I've seen his real side he could care less. I wish this place had a better owner who doesn't exploit people's weakness to make a quick buck. If you are having issues and need extended help ask to stay here again I say do not let carry talk you into going to one of his rehabs your way better off staying here. Carry quashen is a scam artist.

Everyone needs to stop writing bad reviews on this place. The Henry Mayo Behavior Unit is a great place to be when you are in a bad situation. They helped me get through my depression by guiding me through my emotions. They have a great staff morning and evening. I thank you for helping me.

Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately, I've had several 72-hour psychiatric holds where a social worker, nurse, or other clinician diagnosed me to be a danger to myself or others. In other words, I was feeling like giving up, having suicidal ideation. However as far as the psych wards go, this one is very clean, well-staffed, professional, and a great place to regroup and get your mind straightened out. I've stayed in county facilities that were more like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest type of facilities. This is not at all like that. This is just a regular hospital environment with people watching over you and watching out for you. Dr. Arjun Reyes, and Senior Dr. Reyes are very good psychiatrists. There aren't a bunch of crazy people running around acting like lunatics. The 3 meals and 3 snacktimes are above average in quality and more than enough to satisfy everyone. The rooms are semi-private and most have bathrooms inside the room. However, the showers are located elsewhere, but at least they are clean and tidy, not grungy. A social worker works with you to determine a plan of action or what you going to do when you get out. This is very helpful if you need substance abuse in or outpatient rehab, or therapy or support groups of any sort. This is a very resourceful, professional, therapeutic environment. I highly recommend it to anyone that's struggling with severe depression. Don't give up. Reach out. There is help available if you need it, and this is the place to go. This is the Camp Snoopy of psychiatric facilities. I've been to the scary nut wards. This one is not scary- it's a walk in the park, a mental vacation. 5-star Behavioral Health Unit. Just a sidenote, once you're admitted, you do have to use a payphone to make most outgoing calls but they will let you use the hospital phone to let your family members know you're there and what your situation is., Your family and friends can come visit you during visiting hours (i believe visiting is about 90 minutes twice daily- mornings and evenings) . But beware, if you are still feeling pretty hopeless or crazy after 3 days, they can and will extend your stay if need be, so it's in your best interest to take advantage of the resources and try to dig yourself out of the mental hole and get better. That's what you're there for. Getting better and recovering is the whole point, and Henry Mayo's BHU is a great place to begin that journey.
