The staff at this ACE location are friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, the manager is consistently rude. I visit this store frequently, and every time I check out, I have a negative experience. She gives me a hard time when I try to use a store coupon or return an item. During my most recent visit, she even failed to process my return properly. I've had enough and will be taking my business to San Lorenzo Lumber from now on.

I checked several hardware stores and a locksmith no one could make the key. Joys’ keen eye and skillful touch made the key that works perfectly. Joy is an amazing key slayer!

We bought a drain auger here to clean out our drain. We weren’t successful because the auger fell apart while we were using it. Guess what. Ace is not gonna take it back because it’s been used.

If I could convey how hilariously bad the design of the drill attachment is on this thing, anybody who understands how things are put together would not believe it. Two of the most vanishing lease small metal lobes on the side of the perfectly round shaft going into just blue plastic.

You know this is supposed to receive torque from a power tool, right?

This is exactly the kind of reason why I try to shop local and end up regretting it. Womp womp

The Ace Hardware Store at the corner of Soquel and Seabright in Santa Cruz, California is a real gem of a store.

It has an old school feel that you just don’t get at a big box store.

It’s efficiently managed and you can tell the associates are knowledgeable and seem to enjoy helping the customers…..a lot!

Once you enter, you are greeted and asked if there is anything that they can help you with. This AWAYS happens and they often send an associate to the area that you were directed to.

As you might imagine, it’s my go to store for most hardware needs and being local and close by, it saves tons of time and keeps me off the highly congested freeways!

Oh, and if you’re nice and a frequent flyer, they call you by name as Bonnie and Nathan did today when I visited.

A shout out to Gerard is in order because he is so knowledgeable and helps me find what I need so quickly.
