❤️I have had the privilege of being hospitalized here twice. I found the medical staff to be professionally thorough, discovering things that I did not know was going on inside my body. All the nursing staff were pleasant & professional even the ones that had to change diapers for me were fun & made me laugh a lot. Only 1 nurse out more than 2 weeks combined was mean towards me. Which I easily dismissed due to the entire staff that I had contact with were always pleasantly caring professionals that knew what they were doing concerning my state of health at the time. I prefer this hospital over memorial & definately st Mary’s!

The patient rooms are cluttered with no space to travel with your IV staff encourages use of diapers, catheters or bed pans rather than allow patients to freedom to go to the bathroom on their own with dignity too many Unnecessary people coming In and out of the patient room while you’re trying to rest. Charge nurse yelling into the speakerphone at 5 o’clock in the morning

Shout out to Nurses Blair and Tina for finally convincing the docs to perscibe my mom some Tylenol and asprin after being in the ER for over 18hrs waiting to be transferred(not this hospital's fault). And to Jeanette for her fierce advocacy to get her into the other hospital. The night nurse and Doctors were kind but basically treated her like a drug seeking convict (I know we are in an opioid crisis but if someone says the morphine isn't working maybe let's try something different). Not everyone is trying to get loaded. I appreciate this is a busy ER and there are protocols but I definitely would not recommend this place unless it's the last place they can bring you in a crisis which it was for us. Individuals at this place were amazing but the over all experience was stressful and difficult to stay the least.

Horrible Experience THEY SAID THEIR FIRST PRIORITY IS PATIENTS WHO ARE DETOXING. If that's not you don't go. The Doctor yelled at me and didn't give me anytime to talk. I told them I was Disabled and they yelled at me. He prescribed the wrong medicine 5 hours in ER & after CVS I go back to ER & I am told check back into the hospital to get the right medicine. The nurse told me next time I am sick go to Long Beach Memorial. I called the Supervisor Angle from the hospital I hope I get a call back. ROTTEN EXPERIENCE I AM TRAUMATIZED

This facility should be shut down. There is no therapy, no counseling, no peer support—just medication and television. Staff deliberately provoke patients before discharge to force them into staying longer. The night before I was set to leave, a nurse turned the light on and off 16 times, then got upset when I counted.

This isn’t just frustration from someone recently discharged—I’ve been out for two years. It still took my doctor six months to help me recover from the damage this place caused. It needs to be shut down.

This review is specifically regarding the ER department At College Medical Center in Long Beach (Dr. Christopher B. Mcdougal and Dr. Andrew Anh Tran) on Fri, Nov 29, 2024. I came in to get my second dose Rabies vaccine due to a dog bite that happened three days ago. I came in around 10:40am and was quickly accomdated by the receptionist and nurse to check my vitals and wrist band. But as soon as I got called in, I waited for more than 5 hours. At this point, I was very hungry and a bit shaky due to my low blood sugar. I had to ask a few nurses for a snack and juice. Some of the nurses weren't that helpful, most of them were gossping or watching sports on their computer instead of attending to their patients. There was only one doctor working, Dr. Mcdougal which was an elderly caucasian man that was beyond super slow. I can understand it was the day after Thanksgiving but I didn't understand with my situation was a simple second dose Rabies vaccine was taking forever. By the time it was clos to 3pm Dr. Mcdougal finally attended to me but he wouldn't order the Rabies vaccine due to the dog that bite me was unknown vaccinated. I felt like I wasted my time waiting so long for him to not order a simple Rabies vaccine which I had already got the first dose three days ago the day I got bitten.
The second doctor came in. Dr Tran took over and attended to me. At first, I thought he seem kind and accomodating but then when I told him my situation of the dog bite and the dog was unknown for rabies vaccine he was completely condescending, rude, and heartless. He asked me if I did an animal report on the dog and which I didn't know I had to do. He kept telling me to make a report which I agreed to but at this point he was so hostile to me I felt like I wasn't cared for. He kept talking down to me and repeatedly saying, "You need to contact animal control", "Google it, do you not know how to use a computer?". It was hurtful to hear someone with a Doctorate degree and speak to you in a way as if you were stupid. This behavior is unacceptable especially when your a doctor caring for others, where is the compassion?
The only good thing that he did was he did order me the Rabies vaccine but that was it. My assign nurse that helped me was kind and cared for me. I didn't get his name but after he administered the rabies vaccine, I asked him if I should continue the rabies vaccine series at my homebase hospital in Torrance. As soon as Dr Tran heard me communicating with my nurse he said "What did we just talk about?" I just kept quiet. I didn't want to argue with this doctor. I don't understand why he kept scolding me as if I was a 5 year old child.
Dr Tran made me feel uncomfortable and antagonizing. He does not deserve to be working with patients with that type of behavior. I feel sorry for the patients and staff that have to deal with his superiority. It makes me question is he really a licensed internal medicine physician? I will never set foot in this ER location again due to this horrendous experience!

Do not come to the ER in this place my dad was in so much pain here could not even stand still and when we made it to the ER they said there was no rooms available but there were hardly anybody in the ER and they would not take him serious so we had to drive to a different hospital and he had to sit in the car for 10 minutes in pain and was screaming so hard by the pain. I would never come here if I was in pain or my kids when I grow up.

please please please do not bring your self or family members to this facility! they are negligent when it comes to patient’s belongings and look the other way so stuff ends up missing. my dad was in their south center location and his jewelry and phone went missing. and they couldnt “find anything” the phone showed a location in los angeles before it was off while he was supposed to be in their long beach location for treatment! if you want your stuff to get stolen then come here. none of the staff is informed of anything and all they can do it point fingers and say it wasnt me who took it.
