I have been a patient at Serenity since 2021. The staff is super nice and I have never had a problem scheduling appointments, billing issues or communication in between appointments.

Dr. Clay is the best! He is very attentive, understanding and easy to talk to. He goes above and beyond and is always available for urgent situations. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and talk through care plans and explain the reasoning behind decisions. He is super attentive to my needs, he takes into consideration what my goals are and we always create a care plan together, rather than being told this is what we are going to do. He trusts his patients and listens to their needs, whether the medication is causing adverse effects or needing to increase dosages or switch medications. He is quick to make adjustments and isn’t scared to switch to a different medication. With other psychiatrists they would take months to listen to me and to change a medication because they were scared. Dr. Clay is also available if you call in or use the patient portal to send a message if you need a dosage increase or having adverse effects and will make adjustments without having to make an appointment if it is not necessary. Dr. Clay is the most caring, attentive, understanding and easy to talk to. I truly feel safe to express anything and provider. We have built a mutual trust between the two of us is rare in healthcare. Dr. Clay really listens and trusts his patients and has their best interest in mind. He is very competent and is extremely knowledgeable about all components of mental health.

I could not be more discontent. My visit with David was the most unprofessional visit with a practioner I have ever had. It took a lot for me to choose to speak with a professional. I was very optimistic to be there. The second I walked in his office that was violated. He never asked why I was there, never discussed my concerns ( although I blurted them out anyway) he pushed aggressive treatments without discussing my concerns, he pushed medications but more so, the risky and scary issue was he continually pushed Suicidal ideations even with repeated statements that it was not why I was there and that is not something I battle. He made inappropriate references to his previous suicidal thoughts and continued to push them on me ( yes I yelled at him for it) without details( I can't share) he violated my HIPAA rights and left me feeling worse than when I walked in. I have grave concern that he could have a very negative impact on someone with suicidal tendency or a person that is not as strong willed as I. I believe he is a danger to those at risk.

If Only

I felt pressured into getting my son Ketamine treatment. It was not covered by insurance and was super expensive. They then wanted me to have his brain zapped as well. I can't remember what they called that. That would have been another $2500 on top of the $2500 for the Ketamine. He would have been fine if they had just started him on the medication. They have been inept on several different occasions, such as saying a medication was sent to a pharmacy when it wasn't. It is also extremely difficult to get the doctors to do anything unless you go in to see them at a very high price. They will not do anything for established patients unless you wait an extremely long time and go back in to see the psychiatrist again and again. My son turned 18 in the middle of his treatment and all of a sudden, they wouldn't talk to me but were perfectly happy to have me still pay the bills. They wouldn't even communicate that it was because of HIPAA that they were not going to talk to me and that my son could sign something to give me permission to know about his health care. They were also very rude in how they handled telling me they would not talk to me. They simply said, "You are not on a list". They repeated that over and over again. They wouldn't say anything else. I guarantee you they will not be posting this review on their website since they seem to like to pick and choose what Google reviews they put up for people to read. I would not recommend their services.

I've been seeing Dr. Clay at Serenity for years, and he’s simply outstanding. He has an incredible understanding of mental health and truly listens with empathy and compassion. I’ve never met anyone in his field who compares. The team at Serenity always makes me feel welcome and comfortable, creating a warm and supportive environment. Highly recommend!!!

I wrote a glowing report about Dr. Clay a year ago but I would like to add to it. Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer & had to have surgery, chemotherapy & am still undergoing infusions monthly. Dr. Clay, staff, & nurses (shout out to Ashlee) were so compassionate & made sure I received all my meds when I was unable to come in. They didn’t have to do this but it made my life easier. I am truly grateful.

Update 9/13- Serenity has decided not to contract with my insurance company any longer & gave a month notice. Thankfully, I had an appointment yesterday so I was able to get a 3 month supply of my medication. I was informed that I could go cash pay for $300 something each visit. My husband & I decided we would just do this; however, as we drove home, I became more & more upset. It just seems that a company should be able to give their clients more time when deciding to terminate working with a particular insurance. I feel bad for the clients that did not have appointments scheduled because most of time, it takes weeks to get an appointment at another office. I’m sure a lot of clients will be in a panic which clearly isn’t good for people who may be in crisis & can’t afford to pay out of pocket. Sad, sad state of affairs.
In addition, giving people ketamine treatments without having a professional to process the experience seems irresponsible & clearly is money oriented. Always had this intuition that this place was a little shady but never wrote this in my other reviews because I liked seeing Dr. Clay so much.

Brittney and Logan were very helpful in getting me in quickly! They were so friendly and polite, and very professional. David Hauser was very accommodating even when I was running a little late. Very good place to be, the office is beautiful 🙂

Serenity Mental Health is the best experience I've ever had with any doctor's office. The staff is compassionate and kind. Dr.Clay is amazing and really listens to me. He is very calming and easy to talk with.
