I rarely leave reviews and this is not a reflection of the therapist I saw on my 2 visits in April. I received a call from the owner today, and as a healthcare provider and business owner myself, I was completely taken aback by her tone. Unfortunately, I was having issues with my insurance at the time I scheduled my therapy sessions. I explained this to the front desk and told her she can run it through insurance IF even with a deductible, at most, it wouldn't be more than $110 for the initial visit and $75 for the follow up sessions which is their self pay fee. I got a letter from my insurance in May that my coverage ended May 31st which would indicate I did not have coverage in April for my 2 sessions. I tried to explain this to Ms. Pritchette during our call and asked her to contact insurance so she could confirm I did not have coverage. Instead of trying to understand the complicated insurance situation, she repeatedly told me it would be easier for me to just pay or she'd send my account to collections and ruin my credit. I understand she did not want to resubmit the claim as this results in a duplicate claim and causes more issues, but I would have appreciated it if she would have done her due diligence and called the insurance company to confirm their error instead of threatening me with collections. I have been working with insurance companies for over 3 years and I know errors OFTEN occur. I guess I was shocked because I would never speak to a client in this manner, especially without investigating their concerns. My other issue with this encounter, if I would have been told their was ANY possibility that the cost could be greater than the self pay fee, which was collected prior to both visits, I would NOT have authorized insurance.
Update: Thank you for your response. Please note that prior to both sessions, $110 was collected for the 1st visit and $75 for the 2nd visit. So per your response/financial agreement, I did meet my financial obligation.
