I’m very afraid of the doctors just because you never know if there’s any underlying issues. I put my fears to the side, called and made an appointment. There were some things I needed to know. The staff was amazing super friendly and complimented me a lot however when it came to my follow up appointment to get my results (which was 2 weeks later by the way) the professionalism and the kindness went away. My appointment was for 4:30 I received no call. I called maybe 10 mins later. I was told the doctor is running behind and stay on the line I was then hung up on. The office closes at 5 so I couldn’t call back. I’ve been calling this morning as soon as they open and to no surprise I received no answer. I was upfront about my anxiety and this office is causing me a ridiculous amount of stress. I feel like this experience added to my fear and it will take me a while to take that big step to go back and check on my health.

If you value your health and well-being, I strongly urge you to stay away from Goldson Medical Associates. My experience with this office has been marked by shocking unprofessionalism, incompetence, and a complete disregard for patient care.

Despite providing all necessary information for a medical clearance addendum, the nurse practitioner (NP) attempted to deny my request without any explanation. When I asked for clarification, I was met with resistance and a dismissive attitude. This lack of communication and transparency is unacceptable, especially when dealing with matters as serious as surgical clearance.

Even my surgical doctor’s office expressed concern about the way Goldson Medical Associates was handling the situation. That says a lot.

The staff is rude, unprofessional, and completely out of touch with what compassionate care should look like. I genuinely fear that if this continues, their negligence could cost someone their life.

As a Black patient, I sought out this practice in hopes of finding culturally competent care. Instead, I was disrespected, dismissed, and made to feel invisible. This experience has left me so disheartened that I am no longer continuing my search for a Black provider—at least for now. I tried, but I cannot continue to subject myself to this kind of treatment.

I already have to file a formal complaint with the New Jersey Medical Board because this level of care—or lack thereof—is dangerous and unacceptable.

So I had an appointment this morning and bc i was so fatigued and over tired I missed my appointment. They were able to reschedule for 11am but they called an hour later and the Nurse practitioner dismissed every question I had. Her quality of service was very poor. She didn't even care about my well being. People come to the doctor not just bc they are sick but because they want to maintain their well being and for her being a medical personnel she should know that. I never want to see her again and I'm debating about reporting her

During my appointment, the doctor was friendly and explained everything very clearly, which I really appreciated. However, my issue is with what happened afterward. The receptionist told me I would get a call with my test results the next day, but when I didn’t hear anything and followed up, I found out the call had actually been scheduled for a week later without anyone checking if that timing worked for me. Then, on the day of the scheduled call, I didn’t receive a call at the agreed time and was called an hour later instead. The lack of communication and follow-through made the process stressful and left me feeling like I wasn’t valued. Since this was my first visit, I won’t be returning.

Clean facility. Made me feel comfortable. Very relaxing environment. Especially for someone who doesn’t like to go to the doctors. Very polite and courteous.

The staff is unorganized. No one picks up the phone when I call through various times through different days. To even set up an online portal for all of your records, you have to call a 3rd party unknown person to set it up. I even had a simple 2 min phone call to go over lab work results and I had to call the doctor instead of them calling me on time which I also had to pay for. This clinic is not it, go somewhere else.

Dr. Goldson's office is unorganized and she is an unreliable prescriber. If you want to be consistent with your medication, look elsewhere.

This has been the worst medical experience I have had to date.

I made an appointment for a physical and to discuss a medical concern. When I arrived at 11 a.m., I waited in the waiting room for a reasonable amount of time, longer than the scheduled appointment time, but not excessively so. I then met Dr. Okafor. He was polite, but it was clear he was already behind schedule, or perhaps he simply didn’t want to spend much time with me. I left feeling that I hadn’t received a proper physical exam. He barely addressed my other issue, just ordering a series of lab tests without providing any information about my current problem or guidance on what to do in the meantime. He did ask whether I needed mental health support and offered a flu and COVID 19 shot.

Two weeks later, I returned for a follow up visit. I did not see Dr. Okafor; instead, Shayla reviewed all of my results. She was friendly and a bit more engaging, but I still felt rushed. She offered two prescriptions: one that might not be covered by insurance (we’ll sort that out later) and another that she was reluctant to prescribe but said was mandatory. Additionally, I had to undergo another blood draw because the lab had not performed all the tests originally requested. Afterward, Shayla moved on to the next patient before I could confirm what to do if I couldn’t obtain one of the prescriptions that day due to insurance.

When I went to pick up the medication, my insurance denied it. The pharmacy said they had notified the doctor and would wait for an updated prescription. I expected this to be resolved within a day or two, but it wasn’t. I decided to wait for the return call Shayla had scheduled for Monday to discuss possible side effects. No big deal.

Instead, I received a call today from someone named Diana, who was the most hostile person I’ve ever spoken with on the phone. She raised her voice whenever I asked questions, making her explanations seem nonsensical. She told me I needed to come in for my results because they no longer offer telehealth. I asked why, since this wasn’t an appointment; doctors have always called patients with results even before the COVID 19 telehealth surge. Not every interaction requires an in person visit. Shayla had only wanted a brief follow up call, and I can’t just leave work on a whim.

Diana continued to respond rudely, insisting they “just don’t do telehealth anymore.” I politely asked to speak with a manager or with Shayla. Call me a “Karen,” but the interaction was chaotic.

Later, I did receive a follow up call from a different nurse who was much nicer and able to explain the situation coherently. I’m not convinced by the explanation, but at least she offered solutions. She claimed that, due to the government shutdown, telehealth was temporarily unavailable. She suggested a weekend appointment or scheduling me with a third doctor. I told her I would call back.

At this point, I don’t think this office is right for me. I’m not on Medicare; I have private insurance, and I don’t understand how that would affect me. Even if it did, a simple phone call does not constitute telehealth in the legal sense. Physicians have been calling patients with results or check ins long before video visits became common. This whole experience has been far from satisfactory.

I am literally in my car, LIVID, sitting in the parking lot of Goldson Medical Associates. I drove from Somerset in rush hour for a 5:15 appointment. As of 6:45p I was waiting alone in the examination room and still hadn’t been seen. No one came in to apologize or explain the delays. When I could wait no longer I went to the front desk and complained, still received no explanation or apology. Of course they make you pay your copay BEFORE being seen. Never again.

My experience was very pleasant. From the Nurses i met with down to the receptionist and NP Edwards everyone was very kind and thorough. I was seen immediately, was spoken to with respect and my questions and concerns were listened to and acknowledged. The clinic was very clean. I have no complaints as a first time patient I’m very pleased.
