I just started being a patient here, but everyone has been super helpful & kind. I would recommend this place to anyone. (Including close family, who is also a patient). We all struggle in life at times, and I feel at peace here. I really like the counselor they placed me with. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable here & for helping me.

This location I have had a time getting a return phone call from. Tuesday and Thursdays are their walk in opportunities from 9-2 I was told however there is a chance they can no longer have any availability to be seen. To being the process it is necessary to first here, for further service, Bring insurance and ID.

I don’t understand how a place can be ran this badly. Cancelled appts day of. Never call back when leaving messages. You have to literally attack their phone lines. Medication either screwed up or not called in at all. Like you do realize people can DIE without these meds right? Literally about to go down there right now and stand there until I’m dealt with directly. They wanna act like a McDonald’s then I’ll treat them like one.

I don’t know if I even want to post a one star if we are being honest here. I have been gone threw 3 different places and this is prob the worst and last one I’m going to. This place is so pathetic that I have given them chances to make appointments for counseling and it has been canceled every time the day befor or the day of. This is not the only place that has been like that. But they also act like we’re not even valuable enough to come to work I guess. Lol. I have been looking for a therapist for 6-7 months now and every one has either canceled on me or denied me. If you want to good help don’t come here.

I'm greatful for New Horizon they helped me get my head together and get my life on track. I slowed down and eventually stopped attending counseling and stopped taking my medication and my life became a mess again I'm going back this morning and thankful I'm alive and hopeful and greatful for another chance at life.

My services are free because I don’t have insurance and I was really really grateful for that at first.

Bad experiences with 7 out of the 8 people I’ve had services from at New Horizions. One bad experience was the Pickerington location, and the rest Lancaster.
They say there’s options and resources out there and that they’ll “help”.
CM is rude and doesn’t answer me anymore, ES causes drama and talks bad about employees, LSW uses the same technique every session and repeats herself, reception is disrespectful and won’t return phone calls. I called to reschedule an appointment and left a message, they called while I was at work and didn’t leave a message. Then they made me an appointment without asking me the day or time, without informing me of the appointment, and didn’t confirm it. I just got a text about it the day before, then the lady didn’t even call me for that appointment.
I’ve run out of medication twice due to their mistakes and they have not apologized for it.
The first doctor that prescribed me pills talked to me like I was an idiot and would question everything I said.
The doctor I have now that prescribes me pills always has an attitude with me, and she doesn’t suggest anything. She says “what do you want to do” which is nice to have a say in what I am going to be taking, but she says “it’s your decision” and when I say “nothing is working idk if I should keep taking them and see if it changes, or increase or decrease the milligrams” she says “it’s totally up to you, you make the choice” like how is she certified to prescribe medication when she doesn’t even know what she’s doing?

Update: 5/26/21
The LSW (licensed social worker) I’d been seeing for months talked to me about EMDR therapy and I told her that was something I might like to look into. She told me she wasn’t certified so she would try to help me find someone who was.

At our last session she asked me “is there anything I can do right now” I didn’t know what to say so I said “I don’t think so” and she said “okay then good luck with EMDR and I hope it helps”. At the end of every appointment she makes another appointment with me. This time, she did not, and she never helped me look for someone that was certified.

This happened about a month ago and I haven’t spoken to her since. But I’m at the point where I wouldn’t want to anyway. I really want a therapist but everyone I’ve had acts like that. She only has a year experience in this line of work, so I try to be understanding, but she is just so impersonal and I feel like she kind of left me stranded.

Both of the counselors I’ve had at New Horizions (one in Pickerington and one in Lancaster) have both made me feel unwanted and like they wanted nothing to do with me or my problems. I’m not trying to shame the company, just giving my experience.

Although, I don’t really recommended them to anyone.

They refuse to call my meds in, they promise but do not follow thru... Go somewhere else... After 15 years with them being like this i am finally fed up! I want to comply, I want to take my meds, but... how can I when they do not answer or follow thru.. Even my pharmacy has called to no avail.

Too many patients and not enough counselors. Can not have an in depth session so the counselor cannot help much.
